Kobe Bryant died in a helicoper crash in Calabasas Sunday morning ... TMZ Sports has confirmed.
Kobe was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We're told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

JFK Jr. crashed July 16, 1999, the night I rolled into my new town for a California stay that turned out to be 16 years long. I turned on the hotel room TV the next morning to that news.
Thanks for the clarification. Just catching up on the news. We were watching 1917 when the story broke. The evidence already that it was controlled flight into terrain is very sad.
yesterday’s plane crash you’re referring to occurred just outside an airport community where some of my family members live in north florida...

My pilot buddy calls this kind of crash a CFIT, Controlled flight into terrain.
“A controlled flight into terrain is an accident in which an airworthy aircraft, under pilot control, is unintentionally flown into the ground, a mountain, a body of water or an obstacle. In a typical CFIT scenario, the crew is unaware of the impending disaster until it is too late.”
Bryant spoke several language and was far from the bottom of the sports world barrel. I saw him give an interview in Spanish a few days ago.
Like that matters anymore.
CFIT. We are all going to learn that acronym with this crash.
Don't mean to be the politeness police but there is woman out there who is in a living hell right now and what you said strikes me as extremely cruel.
My grandson plays soccer, football and basketball. As near as I can gather, basketball is his favorite game. He's 11 going on 12 and pretty good at it. He is always pretty high on Kobe Bryant.
I have always been able to pull his chain when I told him Kobe Bryant isn't good enough to tie Larry Bird's shoes. At first that made him madder than aytch-eee-double-toothpicks. When he finally understood that I was playing with him he argued without getting angry. We have had some great sports conversations when he learned to play along, then get serious.
In his life, it seemed to me that Kobe Bryant put his money, for real, where his mouth was.
This story makes me sick.

That is what some witnesses have said, that the helicopter was flying way too low, they didnt understand why it was flying so low, I guess like you said, just got lost in the fog

Wasn’t his mom or dad in the state department or something like that - Kobe wasn’t from the hood and I think that was a bone of contention between some of the players who were - I can’t remember now but I’m sure its all gonna get dredged up again with his death. I want to say he spoke Italian and for those guys picking up Spanish is seamless I’ve observed
