Before you get buzzed, consider eating some beef.

A new study found that vegetarians and vegans may experience hangovers more severely than meat-eaters do.

Published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine, researchers at Utrecht University in the Netherlands analyzed the after-effects of drinking alcohol in 13 social drinkers.

Twenty-three hangover symptoms were monitored in participants on a control night and after a night out drinking, which included headaches, nausea, heart palpitations, vomiting, dizziness, sweating, sensitivity to light and sound and thirst.

Throughout the study, participants recorded everything they ate and the analysis discovered that those with less nicotinic acid, otherwise known as vitamin B3, and zinc in their diets suffered more severe hangovers. Low zinc intake, in particular, was “significantly associated” with vomiting, and low nicotinic acid created more severe hangover symptoms, the study showed.

Zinc is most commonly found in meat, shellfish and legumes. Vitamin B3 is prevalent in animal products like meat, poultry and fish, as well as in whole grains, peanuts, avocados and mushrooms. …

I’ll have a T-bone, steak fries, a tossed salad, and a pitcher of beer and a shot of Old #7. If you please.

Heck, most vegans are probably already stoned out of their minds...............

With a sample size like that, how can there be any doubt.

Somebody needs to google the word “study”.

A guy on YouTube posted a video of himself feeding a squirrel. In the description, he implored people not to eat animals. Well, he had me convinced. Then I accidentally clicked on a video of a lion eating a gazelle and nature won me over. I’m gonna grab a buffalo burger for lunch.

Wow, thought vegans were pure and clean and never got inebriated. You mean they are not perfect, and succumb to the fruit of the vine? Fireballs classic.

My feelings on meat vs. non-meat diets mirror my feelings on athletes with low body fat vs. 20% or so body fat. I think the fatty deposits beneath the dermal layers absorb alcohol and act as buffers against strains and potential harm to the body. Athletes, IMHO, nowadays, are injured by things that athletes in years prior just shook off thru a day off. In other words, put a good hit on a running back with 3% body fat and he’ll be out for 1 - 2 games.

There are more factors than just body fat. The hit, speed, angle, intent, receiving players, hit, angle, body fat, etc. It is not as simple as you suggest.

Not anymore - now your opinion is supported by TONS OF EVIDENCE.

We were played for 50 years, demonizing meat while it was Big Carb that was fattening and killing people left and right.

My own personal, very unofficial study has concluded conclusively that beef and beer consumed together give one an incredible feeling of wellbeing.
