Just Went Out to Pick a Few Things Out To Add to the Christmas Stockings. Wow! Many People Out and NOT in a Frenzy! All Smiling and in Great Spirits! Many Merry Christmases, and Cheery Greetings!
Went to a couple of stores localy and one big box. All carts were in use in each store and people were streaming in and out pleasantly and politely. Caught people humming snatches of Christmas carols in the aisles and being enormously polite and all with smiles. Seriously. I stopped at the entrance of a large store and watched people enter and leave.
They were smiling. Most all of them.
May this be a cheerful Christmas Season for all!

Yeah, I can’t drive to 1955 from where I am. /s
Different feel here especially with drivers. Either someone is in a BIG hurry or they are on their phones lollygagging around. I expect to see a road rage incident any day now.
try it on the day before- it’s usually a different story- I’m already seeing impatient people with grumpy attitudes- but no pushing and shoving yet-
I think you need to be traveling 88mph.
Guess they’re in great spirits because of nanzi’s win on the impeachment? LOL! NOT! Have an awesome Christmas to all FReepers.
Why not? Liberals got what they wanted: impeachment. Conservatives got what they wanted: no impeachment.
I just came back from Lowes.
Huge lines, people buying big ticket items. I bought a tool chest (made in America)and went to the pu lane and there was 8-9 vehicles ahead of me waiting.
The robust stock market doesn’t hurt.
I’m committing as many micro aggressions as possible by saying “Merry Christmas!” although I go out of my way to avoid the mobs at this time of year.
So far everyone has returned the greeting.
LOL
Poor you. Sorry that life is so hard.
I think people have money in their pockets and feel optimistic.
It is pretty nice here back in the 50’s
Oh, now, that was funny.
I’m sitting here dressed to leave for the last hour, trying to summon the courage to face the crowds simply because my blasted sink water filter just started flashing yellow.
I liked your version of life and SAM’s reply was funny.
Y’all wish me luck.
I’m small and easy to trample.
:)
Yes it’s like the old days. Happy people, many holding doors open and helping each other, lots of Christmas greetings.
read jerk, i put the /s tag
I cover Iowa, Nebraska, and parts of Illinois for my job.
I can tell you that traveling to some of the small remote towns in Nebraska at Christmas time is most certainly like going back into the 1950’s with their original street pole decorations and classic Christmas music playing on loudspeakers on main street.
:)
[especially the cars!]
And I’m sitting here trying to decide if it’s too cold to take along a Doberman as a buffer zone.
:D
