Former MLB slugger Manny Ramirez — as well-known for his "Manny being Manny" antics as his powerful home runs — has apologized for his career missteps in a Boston Globe interview, explaining that he has a renewed relationship with God and has been in seminary for the past five years.

All these years later, Manny Ramirez wants you to know that he loves you and that he is sorry for mistakes he made while playing in Boston. He is sorry he knocked down Red Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick over a ticket issue when the Sox were in Houston in 2008. He is sorry for the way he shot his way out of town and got himself traded to the Dodgers later that season. He is sorry he got popped for PEDs three times.

Doesn’t apply here. Manny says he’s become a Reformed Baptist.
Canon Law requires six years of study and competence in a pile of things. Often a year of entirely spiritual formation is also required.
All that said, Bishops are often “creative” and depending on the background of the candidate, all sorts of things may happen, for better or worse.

Generally, protestant seminary is 3 years if you go full time. It is a gradute degree. I suspect he is going part time.
Manny did not even graduate from high school let alone never having a college diploma which are prerequisites to attend a legitimate seminary. I suspect he is taking continuing ed type classes at a school that does not actually grant degrees. The articles did not say the name of the school.
Hope he can recognize the liberals which have infested nearly every seminary. Godspeed to him.
The pope had to write a proclamation to keep him out. He used a papal bull pen.

Some years he was as clutch at it came.
But he really was a bit of a jerk. That episode with the traveling secretary was horrible.
