I watched the ad after it was posted here yesterday. The woman was slender to begin with, so the ad sure wasn’t in the category of husband telling fatty wife “Here, honey, I got you this bike to slim down.”
Maybe it was offensive because it looked like the man was a couch potato telling his wife to get in shape?
The perpetually offended are everywhere...and now they wipe a billion of market cap out in a day. Wow.
Or hubby giving her a vacuum cleaner or a lawn mower. Wow, would the world erupt at that one! It would be fun to watch.
Wish I would have been short the stock...if they are even a public co.
Pelotons biggest single-day loss since October
Just made a quick 6% on the rebound. Thanks!
It was icky.
What was icky about it?
***************************
She didn’t wipe the bike’s seat off when she was done??
Ladies,if you won’t get in shape for your husband, then do it for Chad and Tyrone.
CARDIO....
LOL!!!! I thought the His and Hers car ads for Christmas were bad enough but this Peloton ad was the creepiest and worst eveh . “

I cannot see what in the world is creepy or outrageous about this commercial.
With a membership to the local Anytime Fitness and a paid private trainer, I’d be THRILLED if my beloved husband cared enough to purchase such a bike for me.
My beloved husband’s only point would be to ask me about where in the house would I like to stuff it. He’d rather pay the bill for the Trainer...
Has much of the American public gone totally wussy????
How utterly silly of both the men and women in this country.
I think I rate the ‘outrageous’ reaction to this akin to the fad for torn clothing Americans like to wear.
Both are what I would call: FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS.
:-)
Actually, I just booked her (us) for a 27 day Mediterranean (Rome to Ft. Lauderdale) cruise for our 50th (next year)
After putting up with this "short, fat, old and grumpy" man for that long, she's earned it!
(Actually, I was a "lean, green fighting machine" when she first got me.)
Exercise ads do not show women who are out of shape.
They show what you hope is the “After”.

There’s nothing wrong with a husband hoping that his wife doesn’t become a fat slob just as surely as it’s absolutely OK for a wife to hope that her husband doesn’t become a fat slob.
Me either, but outrage culture is the new norm. You are probably older like me.
These guys have no self respect.
And......just another attempt to minimize (white) men in any capacity.
Smells like a bot attack from a competitor. Hire a troll to find which company did it and call in an airstrike.
...the commercial titled 'The Gift That Gives Back', which shows a woman receiving a stationary bike from her husband on Christmas morning. She then documents her year-long fitness journey in a series of selfie clips that she compiles into a thank you video for her husband.
IOW, snowflakes should not have access to the internet.
Lingerie?
I bought and old heavy duty wheel barrow and refinished the body in John Deere green and painted the handles, hub and supports pink and gave it to my country gal girlfriend for Christmas.
She loved it.
What about that car ad where the ‘mom’ retreats to her car after seeing her parents visiting for Christmas ... or her kids playing? In a better world she would not have a family and would be sitting in a small apartment by herself...
