I live in MA. and this ban is already being implemented by many towns. Trader Joe’s has been using paper bags for as long as I can remember and they’re actually pretty sturdy. They also have a reusable bag that’s not only pretty attractive but holds a lot of food. I have been hoarding plastic bags when I get them because they have lots of uses.

Ban here goes in effect next month. But I see 2,000 High-Density Shopping Bags, 8" x 16", White, $23.11 with Free delivery at Walmart online.

That is less than a penny a piece is it not? Thank God for low prices in competition.

My clarification: In CA, the price to consumers for a paper bag is ten cents.
