I “was” always cautious not to use Ccleaner unless I absolutely had to. Normally cookies are a browser issue, I always start there first. I now run Linux and all those 3rd party “cures”, cleaners and anti-viruses are no longer needed at all.
Whatever site you use will give results skewed to make them the most money from their advertisers.
They’re the ones paying for your search.
The OP’s site is very interesting for that reason.
I think you might like the results you get with this. Clear your cache and check it out. It is Google the way it used to be when they started it strictly based on web-ranking through this proxy.
Bing is MS. Personally I have a huge issue with supporting MS.
Have you tried HostMan?
I’ve been using it for, well, pretty much forever.
I go on a lot of link sites and it’s great to see that “can’t be reached” message.
Guess Linux uses the host file too. Haven’t tried Linux since the Red Hat popularity days.
You are absolutely right on the money, I am not getting two pages of “close search terms” ads first. Just straight up results based on the web ranking like Google used to be when it first started. :)
This is the raw old school Google data results we are getting here.
“Havent tried Linux since the Red Hat popularity days.”
Oh man... It is a whole nuther world now. Extremely easy to use and all graphic point and click user interface like Windows. In fact I just for fun loaded a “theme” for this Linux mint that absolutely turns it into Win XP in every aspect, function, and appearance. Except that it will do more than Windows, But it would be very hard to tell the difference for a regular XP user. :)
And they have a “theme” that will turn it into Windows 10 if one insists. Only the lord knows why someone would WANT be reminded of Win 10 after leaving it, I personally have absolutely no “rational” clue why... lol
Recommend a source.
Now that Windows has adopted the Mac view that “we’ll make all your decisions for you”, Im open.
Something easy.
As for your original post, I’m still trying to figure out how they make money.
They accept donations I’m sure just like Linux, and just like the FR. And something to remember is that EVERY website on the internet is using Linux on their servers now. You would not believe who has adopted, and are now using Linux. Even the U.S. postal system is now using it.
So the base sending donations is HUGE. They are all getting compensated just fine for us to use it for free. Think of it this way, To have someone sign up for cable or satellite TV they give you the receiver box. It is in their best interest and profitable to do so. :)
May I PM you and I can provide you the links to give Linux a shot if you like? First though I have to ask if you have an HP? :)
Thank you
Absolutely my privilege. Glad to help in anyway I can against this mess... :)
If you happen to run across a trick please share!
i click on the flag but it does nothing...
can you pls post the US link?
thx
So, I load Linux as a browser or as an OS?
I play one game 24/7 called Rail Nation. However I operate, RN must function properly. It soon moves from Flash to HTML5, that will probably be headaches enough for us, unless they get everything right straight away.
Got a Dell mini-desktop.
$225 I think.
Tf you need more info I’ll provide it.
A dual-boot I can easily doenload to a thumb drive or DVD woulds be perfect.
Then you are good to GO! Dell actually put some boxes out with Linux as an optional OS! The only time I have ever had any conflicts with a linux install it was with HP. They have some proprietary quirky stuff in the BIOS that can goof stuff up. But it is not the fault of linux, it is HP. But dual boot is THE way to go for a start, then you have the best of both until you get tired of the “other”. lol
It is easier with a DVD, but takes a little longer because of the slower data read/transfer times. But in turn to put it on a stick is another whole step. I personally like to put it on a DVD and then do what I like with it later. There really is something to be said about the slower transfer speed, there are less chances of glitches during read and write transfers.
I will drop you a line with what you will need in the morning. :)
Very generous of you.
Linux would be a great OS and it operates similar to Win XP/7. Please let me do some research on your particular game and see how it could be facilitated for you with Linux. Most Windows games can be played with 3rd party “adapter”(analogy) programs called “wine” or “play on linux” using Linux as an OS. Let me dive in and see how this would work for you before pulling the trigger and considering it. But I can testify along with others, for everything else in life it cannot be beat! :)
Absolutely my privilege and honor! Myself and the Bill Gates arrogance have been in a perpetual extreme feud for years now. I have made it a personal goal to tear that down one small chip at a time no matter what it takes, and if I can help someone else out at the same time then so much the better! :)
Well, keep your goals in the range of ‘achievable’ LOL!
It’s just since MS got the Mac view of “we’ll take care of everything” that I became disgruntled.
Windows was in-between Mac and Linux before, now they’re just like Mac- well, I like to have some input.
