Here is an excellent video rundown. This will be awesome, and I’m not normally an Apple fan.”

Well, I would hope it has a brand new keyboard!
At the prices they charge I wouldn’t want a used one!....................

LOL...I’m still using my old 2009 13” Macbook Pro. Upgraded the hard drive several years back and maxed out the RAM.
The problem is there are no iOS updates past El Capitan for it..LOL
Still works great though for just plain old web browsing and getting email. I mostly use it in my shop to access vehicle data, order parts, etc.
The one thing I always like about that old machine is the keyboard. Even though it’s old, it still works, and feels way better than any of the ones that Apple was putting in the 2015 and new stuff.
Maybe it’s time has come to retire the faithful, old gal and go for an upgrade to this shiny new one... I say that every time and never do...LOL...may have to swing by an Apple store and check it out.

Starting at $2,399, the 16-inch MacBook Pro is available today through apple.com and the Apple Store app.

Who? Who but Apple fanbois will pay this price? And before I get flamed, just know I am an Apple fanboi. I like Apple. But this is exhorbitant.

Was there something wrong with the last keyboard introduced in 2017?

Maybe they can call this the Southpark or Mr. Garrison Keyboard after this “Scissors” keyboard.

Thanks for posting this article. I’ve had a 15 inch MacBook Pro since early 2011. Were later models without esc keys? I also read that later models stopped having the chime upon start-up. Mine stopped after the last software update 10.13.6. The sound works perfectly on it other than that, even without my USB speakers, so the chime isn’t missed.

I got an Apple Card a while back, and am keeping it for when, and if I need to get a new laptop sometime before I die. The 16 inch comes with 16 gigabyte, which is more than I’ve ever had on any of my Apple computers over the years.

It's kind of amazing how many thing Apple did to mess up the excellent MacBook Pro in recent years - replacing the excellent keyboard with something a lot worse, removing ports, adding the ridiculous virtual button bar and getting rid of the handy magnetic power connector. At least they're walking back the keyboard change, finally.

I'm still hanging on to an old and outdated MacBook Pro as one of my work laptops because I can't stand the new ones. Maybe I can finally replace it.

And big news: There’s a physical escape key. At last!

I just looked at my mid-2012 macbook pro. I have an escape key on the keyboard. Upper left corner. What I would like is a number pad on the right.

This is great news. I held off getting a MacBook Pro this time around because of the smaller screen sizes. Got a MacBook Air to tide me over in the meantime.

Now the 16" is out and it's very reasonably priced too. I can use the MacBook Air for travel and the MacBook Pro for home.

A couple of things...

If you even consider a $400 Windows laptop to be a suitable machine for you, this is not your laptop. In fact, you should probably just forget Apple exists. I have a friend who doesn’t understand why anyone would go to a butcher shop for steak when Walmart sells perfectly good meat. Same thing.

Go to Dell.com and try to configure a laptop to these specifications. You will find the prices comparable.

This is a high end laptop for high end work. If you only read email and surf the web (with a little Solitaire tossed in for fun) not only do you not need this, you are likely incapable of understanding why anyone would need this.

Off topic:

https://www.usnews.com/opinion/articles/2013/05/10/15-ways-google-monitors-you

“Safari. In 2012, Google was fined $22.5 million by the Federal Trade Commission for illegally tracking users of Apple's iPhone, iPad and Macintosh computers by essentially hacking Apple's Safari browser. The big fine solved the problem, right? Not at all, because Safari, like Firefox and other browsers, uses Google’s blacklist to check the safety of websites.”

Can Google still track my searches when I am using Duck Duck Go as my search engine on my iPad?
