That mountain is racist. Tear it down. All the way to sea level.

And when Negro Lake forms in it’s place, justice will have been done.

When I was a kid in Pittsburgh there was a car dealership called Nick Crivelli Chevrolet. The owner did his own radio ads. He spoke with a really deep fried Italian accent, and in all of those ads when he said “Nick Crivelli Chevrolet” it came out sounding like “Negro Valley Chevrolet”.
We all used to sit around and wonder “Negro Valley? Where is that?”
Below this mountain apparently.

Since when is a bump 2740 feet above sea level a mountain? On most of the east coast. Mount Mitchell, Atlantic Highlands, NJ is all of 266 feet above sea level.

Um, it IS in the Appalachians. The A runs clear from Maine through Georgia.

First of all, the peak in MD is actually 3075’.
Second of all, the Appalachians are MUCH OLDER than your Rockies, and have had time to wear down AND actually grow useful vegetation on them. They were actually much larger than the Rockies are now, ages ago.
Many of our peaks were the valleys of the original mountains. Look at the cut into Sideling Hill for a peak at how that might have looked.

I grew up in Maryland, so I was sort of kidding. Spent most of my time at the highest spot in Talbot Co. (~50’)
Now I’m at 7500’ and still spend a lot of time looking up.

Actually, Negro Mtn IS a long ridge of the Allegheny Mountains, stretching 30-mile (48 km) from Deep Creek Lake in Maryland, north to the Casselman River, and is a subrange of the much larger Appalachians.
The Appalachian Mountains slice through the center of Pennsylvania, with the Allegheny and Pocono Mountains, the state’s most significant subranges.
I live 65-70 miles east of the Appalachians.

So yes, they ARE part of the Appalachians.

They are part, but a smaller subrange.
