I usually donate via Paypal. Paypal says I have made the donation and it is deducted from my account.
But I wonder if there is a way to verify that FR actually received the money.
After the donation when PP says "returning to merchant" I always get an error message. I made two separate donations last night and today the scoreboard shows only one more donation from [Kentucky] than before I did so.
I know this sounds paranoid, but it seems hinky and I'd like to confirm the donations.
I received an e-mail receipt from Jim Robinson when I made my donation. Did you put your e-mail address in the form?
um.. yeah... when you see the money taken out of your account.
Yup either your paypal balance will be reduced, plus, you can look at paypal transactions or you’ll see it in your bank account statement or if online banking, see it in your recent transactions
I used to. I haven't for several cycles.
Uh, yeah, I know that. There is just something not working right the last couple of times around.
Is anyone else donating by Paypal and having the same error message about not returning to merchant?
This is the first time I have donated on-line. I used to send a money order.
My last Q3 paypal donation didn’t show up on the donar list. I don’t remember if I was redirected back to FR though.
I get FReepmail from JustAmy that my check has been recieved.
I get emails from FR as receipts - and I also see my name appear on the current donor list...

I’ve designed e-commerce websites that integrate with PayPal PayFlow. The payment processing sequence does several HTTP redirects on both the front and back ends, and it can be tricky to handle the post-payment handoff (timing issues). It looks like the handoff back to the FR site is getting fumbled somehow.
Rest assured if your credit card was charged or you PayPal account deducted, FR did receive the payment in their own PP account. FR’s back end system might have dropped posting it on their end (hence no email confirmation) but they did receive the money if it was taken out of your account.
