Windows 10 could be better if only Microsoft got rid of its layers of made-men, according to a former Microsoft distinguished engineer.
Tired of boring, buggy Windows 10 updates? You can blame them on Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's failure to eliminate the company's legacy of appointing "made-men".

Yes, and any Ebolacare-compliant insurance policy is required to pay for it!
I bought my Dell on HSN shopping network...They have specials at times.
I have no problems with Windows 10.
It was an app he downloaded on his phone.FIXED.
You can choose the hours you want the update to avoid and I have delayed the update before on my Windows 10.
I’m talking about when you turn your computer on and it begins an update and won’t allow you to use it until it is finished.
It's gone bye-bye. You got the old one working so well, we chose to get our cash back for the new one.
The old laptop has been very stable these last couple of weeks on Windows 10. That's suited me just fine, as all the work to get it there exhausted the hell out of me. I needed a break.
I'll try to call you in the new week so we can debug Cinnamon Mint.
Long live my fav, and last, OS: Windows 7 Pro 64.
FYI, I called H&R Block about this and was told they will be supporting their software under Win 7 for the foreseeable future.
H&R software will take your TurboTax returns and convert to their format.
Macs are UNIX() and every Apple Mac user is two keystrokes away from a fully functioning UNIX command line Terminal. For minimal expense, you can run all Windows software as well transparently on the Mac. I used to run NINE different OSes simultaneously on my MacPro, including three different versions of Windows and two flavors of Linux. Expense? No more than a similarly equipped Windows computer and often less.
For total cost of ownership, IBM found they saved so much with Apple they transitioned ALL 400,000 of their employees to Apple Macs and mobile devices, starting in 2015 and reduced IT support costs by $41 million per year and reduced trouble shooting calls by 75%! Before the transition, they had to have one IT person for per 300 Windows computers, after the transition, they found that one IT person could maintain 2000 to 2500 Macs! Workers and managers reported an increase in their personal and department productivity as well. Their VP of Information Services at IBM Estimated that IBM was seeing between $270 and $528 savings per computer over each Windows PC computer with the Apple computers, even with a higher initial purchase price, depending on what purpose they were serving at IBM, on replacement, over the expected life of the computers. That was accounting for all costs attached to owning them and the improvements in lowered IT support savings, productivity, etc. these were REAL audited savings.
Nor does MacOS, OSX, or iOS. . . You update them when youre good and ready, not when the company that publishes it decides to force you to do it.
There we have someone who has only lived in the Microsoft microcosm and is convinced its the only way things must work.
Without knowing your Gsons specific IPhone model, I cant give you any starting points for trouble shooting it. My best suggestion is to call Apple support at 1-800-MY-APPLE and talk to tech support and have them talk you through checking it out. Thats free.
Glad to hear its fixed.
I acknowledge your experience; mines rather similar (see my FR profile page for some background).
Windows 10 got off to a rough start, and has been plagued by outlandish promises and some bad updates. Users complaints are real and I dont think its accurate to slur thousands of technically-competent users as amateurs and ignorant.
Granted, a huge number of Windows consumer users are technically incompetent, but they shouldnt have to be technically knowledgeable. Theyre users, not computer engineers.
Realistically, the only reason Win10 finally topped 50% market share is that its been the only version you can buy on a new Windows machine for long enough that attrition is removing the Win7 machines from use, coupled with the upcoming Win7 EOL.
That said, I use Win10 successfully, the 100 or so other employees of my software company use Win10 successfully, and on the whole weve had relatively good experiences. Win10 continues to improve, and it will eventually be the only choice for Windows users; I fully expect Microsoft to effectively disable all prior versions in a few years, by mandating conditions that are incompatible with prior versions.
I respectfully suggest you take a softer stance with regard to those you disagree with regarding their own experience. It is their experience, not yours. Things that they cant deal with, you and I arent bothered by. You and I can solve Win10 issues much easier and faster than most Win10 users. So what yeah were IT experts, but dont let it go to your head.

“People who complain about Windows 10 are amateurs and do not know what they are talking about.”
Spoken like an arrogant douche.
More so now i suppose: Microsoft snags hotly contested $10 billion defense contract, beating out Amazon
Maybe better off building your own, like here: Custom build you own modern computer (new Ryzen CPU) for under 400.00 (OS not incld.) and get more for your money and avoid Dell bloat.
The list of Winaero Tweaker features
Add to this the complete list of over 200 tweaks available in in Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 for Windows 10
Plus Open Shell
There are plenty of unobtrusive error events which you would not know are happening unless you ran event viewer (Run eventvwr.msc and hit Administrative events), which i am sure occurs under other systems as well.
In what way?
It is the best so far. But make sure you have installed WINDOWS 95 SYSTEM UPDATES !
