Todays Cryptogram

.
You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications.
The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and any tips you might give the group on how you solve these puzzles as puzzle solvers love to hear how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for todays Cryptogram.
If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it to Hals Helper below:
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper.
THE IN THING NOW IS TO SCROLL DOWN TO MAGNUM44S HELPFUL HINT BEFORE YOU SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
Solution to our last puzzle:
We herd sheep, we drive cattle, we lead people. Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way. - George S. Patton.
About 2 and 1/2 min. Got the 2nd and 9th word and I was on my way. Opposite of Occum’s Razor.
Good one. Yes, guessing the second word opens everything up.
Well, that one made me laugh!
it’s true
What the quote says -- not this time. Got the letter E then the 2nd word, off to the races. Recognized it at 30 sec but took me till 1 min to fill in all the letters.
That's what drives politics!
JKOFZG, XGSL SXU HIEXW personified.
1:40, which is an improvement over some of the tough ones from the past few weeks...
Easy one today, solved it in under 2 minutes; guessed the first two words (similar to yesterday’s CG) then it was off ‘to the races’ as we say!
I’m a cryptogramaholic, so I was thrilled to find these threads a few days ago. I never timed myself, though, because I had to work them out in my head since they were on my phone. That proved to be a different kind of challenge, especially for a geezer like me. Fortunately, these haven’t been too difficult. Here’s hoping that memorizing what letter is what and remembering them throughout the process is exercising certain gray matter that might otherwise be getting flabby.
Thanks for uploading them!
It’s interesting to read the different techniques of how others solved the puzzle. Now that I’m on my computer, the puzzle looks different from how it appears on my phone’s small screen. Somehow I didn’t even pay attention to the 2nd word. It was this part of the puzzle that caught my attention:
LNGIG KJ SX SXJHGI LNSL
Once I deciphered that part, I was “off to the races.” Sorta. Having to re-remember each letter makes the process considerably slower. More like a tortoise than a hare, but I still got ‘er done. ;) I don’t recommend multitasking when using this technique.
I do the puzzles on paper. If I’m stumped I’ll copy them to Hal.
Shall I add you to our ping list?
