Through history all militant groups like this have evolved into factions that vie for power based on their factional ideas of how to bring about the change or revolution.

Like the Bolsheviks, Fascists, and National Socialists in the 1920s through 1940s, they are all socialists. The just disagree on whose concept of socialism is the right one and how socialism should be implemented.

Antifa is spawned from those past factions, in particular the fascists. They are the domestic enemies along with their upfront supporters, the Democrat Party.
