*snip*

After suffering a variety of unidentifiable health issues that baffled their doctors, this former vegan couple known for competing in endurance cycling races and triathlons, had a complete 360-degree revelation where they embarked on a high-protein paleo diet that miraculously resolved their health issues. Their collective epiphany and new found vitality led them to launch EPIC Provisions, an Austin-based meat snack company that specializes in making nutrient-dense whole food protein snacks from farmers that engage in regenerative farming practices, in 2013.

You really...really, have to love the irony in this piece.

I've been making 2 venison bars my lunch every other day. If I can find the right price, I will make it every day.

I’ve watched several YouTube videos by people explaining why they are no longer vegans. They almost always cite serious health problems, and sometimes their teeth rot.

Every one of these videos has comments from other vegans who claim the former vegans weren’t doing veganism correctly. The criticism reminds me of the proponents who claim that “that wasn’t *real* socialism” every time they are presented with an example of a socialist failure.

10 Bars for about $30.
Then $7 for shipping.
I tried to order but no PayPal
payment option. Plus website
was very slow to process order.
I gave up. If I am going to pay
a premium price, don’t make me go thru
15 minutes of order processing.

My sainted grandfather was not an ecologist not scientist but I am. He brought home beef from the farm that was most excellent. He said it was good for us. He was right.

The article talks about those "that engage in regenerative farming practices." I practice this every year. We kill deer on my land every year in a most ethical manner. The shots are 100 yards or less with quality firearms and superior optics. The shot is right behind the ear. The deer feels no pain. It is dead before it hits the ground. The meat is delicious.

I buy mine in Kroger. They are $2.50 but I only buy them on sale, usually $1.50 and occasionally $1.00.

I would think that the other major grocery chains would carry some of the flavors. They are a little hard to find at our Kroger, not in a good spot - no surprise, it’s either Kroger or Walmart for food in our area so Kroger doesn’t have to do too much to compete.

target.com has them at a pretty good price (8.99 for 4) and free shipping at $25. But does not accept Paypal.

I do not know the brand, but I can buy meat bars at the local shoppette on the Army post. They have beef, bison, and chicken, I think, with various flavors like chipotle. They are very good and lean, for less than $2 each.

Vegans are idiots.
From what I've read India never won another conflict after they gave up meat. Meat = muscle.

Meat is expensive to "grow." The Chinese, always poor, fed what meat they had to their military when they entered this era.
When their athletes entered world competitions they ALWAYS lost until the government started THEM on meat as well.

It's not rocket science, is it?

There is a psychological reason for vegan denial of their health recovery. I write about it at length, including other cases mirroring this couple.

Ask a vegan how much omega 3 is in a product whose label proclaims 180 mg of omega 3: They will answer 180 mg, as ignorant as they can be for a person who is supposed to know nutrition absent animal products.

Where do you find them in Kroger?

In my store they are in the "health & nutrition bars" section which is one aisle over from the snack bars. But they put them on the very bottom shelf and they are not noticeable at all unless you get almost on your knees. It was pure accident that I saw them.

You can search your local store by using kroger.com. But I've given in and used their phone app because it is hard to find some things in our store & the app is much quicker than finding a person to show me. Heck, half the people working there are less familiar with the stock than I am.

"We boiled a steak and that wasn’t any good. Then we found bacon." (emphasis added).

Okay article, but who edits this stuff? A "360-degree revelation" means that they came back around to veganism.

As meat-eating is diametrically opposed to not-meat-eating, a change to meat-eating would be a "180-degree revelation".

(I tried, but couldn't find a way to comment back to the writer...this stuff just detracts from the content.)

Ive had them all. Theyre good, not worth the cost though. The product is comprised primarily of hype, prestige, and mystique with a little bit of protein for filler.

That’s a much better price. The only place around here that sells them has them at nearly $4/ea.

Every one of these videos has comments from other vegans who claim the former vegans weren’t doing veganism correctly.

Some of the ones I have known had to order food to be sent FedEx from other parts of the world. It might be easier thsese days, with much better logistics and a larger audience for current vegan trends.

That said, if there is no part of the world where you can get a perfectly healthy vegan diet year round without resorting to 21st century transport, it CANNOT be how man was designed by either God or Nature to eat healthy.
