I bought a space heater for my greenhouse. The heirloom tomatoes and pepper plants are lovoling it and are blooming all over again.
I had to hand pollinate a bunch of plants last week....hope this works.
P.s....I am in the Seattle area. Nights are upper 40s lower 50s. Days are lower to mid 60s with an occasional 70 if we have a cloudy night the prior evening.
WoW!!! Lots of talent on display there. Wife and I were early donors to our Botanical Garden...

Wonderful seasonal attractions, butterflies in the spring and Christmas trees from around the world with a neat toy train set up and many miniature buildings made from plant materials. Fantastic picture. The garden here in Idaho is done. 27 degrees this morning. Fall has arrived. I moved 2 earth boxes with cherry tomatoes into the sun room, they’re still putting out tomatoes. Everything did good after the June 20th frost so I’m not complaining. It’s been a great gardening thread, learned a lot and enjoyed the stories and recipes. Thanks to all.

It was actually UNDER 90 degrees today for the first time in a while here in Louisiana! Cold front is supposed to finally arrive and maybe bring some needed rain . One thing I am puzzled about that some of you here know far more than I is , my rose bushes / plants are growing like crazy? I would have thought that more growth would occur during the times when it is raining far more often ? I love to see them thriving but am curious as to why they grow branches (big amd long) along with great foliage along with it? I AM SO ACCUSTOMED TO mAINE AND THE RAPID GROWTH AND BLOOMING (sorry) of all plants and crops due to the shorter season . Any information would be appreciated . I hope all is well for all that post here!

I can go either way, but with apple pie, I like the crumbles...they hold more whipped cream. ;)
OMG! Each display/arrangement is prettier than the last! Some great ideas, there. A square frame, some moss and chicken wire and you’re in business! :)
You Southerners and those in the South East have really gotten a kick in the pants with that last heat wave! I’m glad you’re getting some much-needed relief!
As for the roses putting out a lot of growth after the heat, I’ve had that happen to mine up here in the North, too. I think it’s their last hurrah before calling it quits for the season.
I’ve been looking, but can’t find a logical reason for it, so I’m open to other suggestions/experiences.
Yeah, their hort department is very creative. When it gets closer to Christmas I’ll post some pics of their incredible landscaping around those miniature buildings. Chicago botanic gardens does a holiday exhibit that is similar but they have the buildings, some greenery and lots of pointsettias. We were disappointed. The miniature plantings just make it.

I believe there is ten more to pick and they are much larger. I will need some help moving those. Lady Bender cooks down several pounds of pumpkin and freezes it in butter tubs for use through out the year
Have you ever grown Boston Marrow squash? They are a very old variety, huge, very nutritious, and great flavor?

I’m looking forward to NEXT Fall when I’ll be Puppy-Free and can have my porch done up pretty with pumpkins and Mums and such. They’ve taken down/off with two garden flags this season so far. Really? You can’t find SOMETHING on 160 acres to play with other than MY stuff?
