people need to record and photograph and publish more of this stuff to get it to stop. Also with Masonic bs.
Thank you sir may I have another?
I was an Army officer and never got hazed; your comment shows how incredibly wrong people are. Being mistreated does not result in a show of character or brotherhood. What utter nonsense.
I was an enlisted man, hazing goes on even if the officer are not aware of it (but will gurantee you that the Sgt are aware of it). By the way, did you go to West Point. I understand that the first year cadets are hazed the entire year.
Hazing per se does not mean physically mistreated.
Hazing is just another word for initiation or test and even a job interview could be a form of “hazing”.
Your lack of understanding of human nature is amazing. How individuals respond to situation is very much an indication of their character. Putting stress on an individual will often expose their true character.
As a combat infantryman, a replacement for a soldier that got killed, I was not accepted into the “brotherhood” until after my first firefight. Up to that point I was the “newbie” and for the most part ignored. Once I showed I could handle myself in combat I was accepted as one of them.
Now not every group can go into combat together so other methods have been devised over the course of history to “test” individuals that want to join the group.
And sometimes the group decides someone is not worth “testing” and that individual is never invited to join.
Hate to let you know this isnt about public schools. The Greeks....particularly the frats.... have had this reputation for over a hundred years
Fraternities do not have any particular right to exist on any college campus. The university or college can demand that students live in school housing
Well golly, my frat never killed a pledge. Geeze. ...
What does it mean to suspend them? The frat boys cant associate with each other ?
Is that what they are doing? Did they tell the frat boys they need to move out of the frat house? Are they banned from seeing each other?
I am a female former JAG and certainly there are baptisms by fire that bond people. And certainly you don’t want someone you can’t count on with you in combat whether it is in the field or in the courtroom. Hazing like the Marines do pounding pins into each others’ chests is just dumb. So you may think I don’t know about human nature and you are entitled to your opinion. But you should make room for the possibility that you are wrong. These stupid fraternities paddle each other, make each other drink huge amounts of liquor and other pathetic ridiculous stuff that has no earthly point to it—I do remember being told in the military that if I didn’t drink “no one would trust me” which I thought was utter rubbish and I basically said KMA because I don’t like alcohol and I don’t like losing control and I don’t like having a hangover. Anyway, getting sh8tfaced together or paddled together is stupid and I don’t believe in stupid.
Didnt say they did
LOL I belong to one of the most influential frats at Stanford and I am sure my university would not even think of doing this crap.
BINGO!
see my post. I got my ass kicked as a plebe and just like THOUSANDS before me at my frat, how many started lawsuits? NONE. My frat knows how to invite and weed out prospects. Even in my batch, I know the 4th generation of a family who didn’t pass, and I am sure he got ridiculed for it, and they are very influential in GOP politics..
OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.
(Ohio) University suspends all fraternity chapters amid new reports of hazing
