Apples usually follow bi-yearly cycle putting out a lot of fruit one year followed by little the next.

My granny Smith orchard last year was a limb breaker. This year not so good.

My Arkansas Blacks This year is the best crop I’ve had in 15 years for that orchard. That variety seems to store the best. They blossom late Spring so are usually the last Apple picked. Staying hard and Crisp well into January

Besides weather, pollination, pruning and thinning also play major parts of how good the crop is
