Art lovers are being warned of upsetting content before they enter the new William Blake exhibition at the Tate Britain.
William Blake at the Tate Britain features 300 of his original prints and paintings in the largest collection of his work for nearly 20 years.
But visitors are being told his artwork contains 'strong and sometimes challenging imagery' and 'depictions of violence and suffering' as they make their way towards the entrance.
Blake was known for his radical and rebellious attitude, exploring struggles in his personal life as well as the political turmoil of eighteenth century Britain.

Are people really that pathetic?
Viewed his works. To the UK: So?
Yes.
We have raised an entire generation of Snowflakes, Cupcakes and just plain overgrown Children who are deeply pathetic.
They even sit in our Congress and have influence on our future.
Let that sink in.
We are now reaping the whirlwind of their malfeasance.
Obviously, we went after the wrong Communists. We should have saved the fuel and stayed right here.
Oh my ears and whiskers! Why didn’t someone warn me before I looked at the article?
They need to exhibit some American Revolution paintings, maybe Cromwell, too. Britain’s history is bloody, they need to see ALL of it. How about some witch burnings? Joan ‘D Arc?
William Blake
O for a voice like thunder, and a tongue
To drown the throat of war! When the senses
Are shaken, and the soul is driven to madness,
Who can stand? When the souls of the oppressèd
Fight in the troubled air that rages, who can stand?
When the whirlwind of fury comes from the
Throne of God, when the frowns of his countenance
Drive the nations together, who can stand?
When Sin claps his broad wings over the battle,
And sails rejoicing in the flood of Death;
When souls are torn to everlasting fire,
And fiends of Hell rejoice upon the slain,
O who can stand? O who hath causèd this?
O who can answer at the throne of God?
The Kings and Nobles of the Land have done it!
Hear it not, Heaven, thy Ministers have done it!
My sentiments, exactly. To see the way things have deteriorated makes my heart hurt.
Amen to that.
At the risk of being ‘sappy’, I can only pray and urge all of you out there to pray for Trump that God gives him the strength to withstand this garbage. And, to pray that the people he has surrounding him will not falter and remain loyal so he can accomplish what he has set out to do.
Next up: All depictions of Christ on the Cross, and events leading up to the Crucifixion, are to be forbidden.
Nothing at all “sappy” about that my friend. We all need to remember that it is through the Grace of God that we can and will endure and ultimately prevail. The forces of Evil among us must be defeated and they shall be.
All future depictions of the death of our Savior will show him in a timeout chair.
And John the Baptist is shown getting a stern talking-to by Salome.
Then there’s Daniel in the kittens’ den ...
Blake did do disturbing images, some of which at least children should probably not see (maybe what they were after?). Ex: SATAN, SIN, AND DEATH, 1807, one of his illustrations for Milton's Paradise Lost.
Apparently they don't have any H. Bosch or Matthias Grunewald. Glad they're not in charge of the Sistine Chapel. Disclaimer -- if I ever could travel to the UK, the Tate would be quite high on my must-sees.
