Sean Bean has revealed that he's so exasperated with his characters dying onscreen, he's now turning down roles which would see him meeting a grisly end.
The 60-year-old actor's character Ned Stark was brutally beheaded in the first season of hit fantasy drama Game Of Thrones, while Boromir perished under a shower of arrows in Lord Of The Rings marking just two of his 23 screen deaths.
And Sean has now decided that he'd like for his next character to make it out of a TV show or movie alive, telling The Sun: 'Ive turned down stuff. Ive said, "They know my characters going to die because Im in it!"

Didn’t Leonardo DiCaprio have a run of dying characters for a while?
Titanic, The Departed, Blood Diamond, The Quick and the Dead... all come to mind.
If you’re Sean Bean, your character dies.
It’s what you do.
GEICO.
The only role I can see him in was when he played a phony former SAS commando in Ronin. Something about stolen valor just sticks with me.
Sean,
It all pays the same.
Philo
How can you have stolen valor in a movie which is fictional? Many other actors have played special forces fictional roles in movies too.
Good for him! Take control of one’s own destiny.
He is in the abysmal “Curfew” mini-series. And sure enough....
Believe George Raft did that one or a couple of occasions; he turned movie roles down because he did not want to play the character who dies at or near the end of the movie and Humphrey Bogart got them instead and made them famous (believe one was High Sierra).
But, that’s all Sean’s got!?
Stand in front of a camera long enough and you become delusional. Hey fool. Its all make believe and its called acting. You are being paid to pretend. Its not real.
This guy always says Sean Bean dies or doesn’t die in a movie he’s in , https://www.youtube.com/user/CinemaSins/videos?app=desktop
Sean,
“Live long and prosper.”
Although, I remember Spock saying that in a Star Trek movie death scene (”Wrath of Khan”).
LOL!
