Sounds like something out of Pulp Fiction. Are these Afro Americans from the Caribbean ? Sounds like something they would do.

If you’re wondering if this is in A-O-C’s congressional district, I believe the answer is yes.

The location shown in the picture is at the intersection of Bussing Ave and Digney Avenue in the Bronx. It is definitely in AOC's 14th Congressional District. I'm not sure if the location at which the gentleman was kidnapped (E. 234th St. and White Plains Road) was within her district, but I think it is.
Surely she could have done something about this, why didn't she?
Lat/long of the Bussing-Digney location is 40°53'36.2"N 73°51'05.4"W.

Maybe the car can be fitted with a lightweight carbon fiber cowcatcher, and can be used on most sidewalks to pursue POI?

"bodega": Noo Yawk speak for "grocery store".
Why is this word used in the news? Is it to intentionally influence the English language to adopt Spanish words?

they were chasing two suspects who had been smoking pot on a nearby street corner, authorities said. While they were searching for the suspects in the store, an employee let them into the basement, where they discovered the kidnapped 49-year-old, cops said.
While wasting taxpayer money, the cops accidentally did something useful.

This has the feel of the owner selling drugs out of her shop or using it as a distribution pick-up spot.
The kidnappers being her hired thugs and the kidnapped someone that got sideways with them.
