Having worked in the retail industry I can tell you that one of the things they surely debated is that the minimum-wage cashiers would likely conclude that someone with a gun was there to rob the store, or conduct a mass shooting.
“Smart & Final, which was founded more than a century ago, operates 324 stores in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Mexico.”
Our families have been shopping at Smart & Final for seemingly ever. I am 72, and wife, and I grew up shopping with family there, and are still shopping there. Great stores.
If my choices are open carry or concealed carry with a state-issued license, I’m getting the license.
Hmmm. I guess concealed is the way to go.
I don’t have a gun yet, but that day is coming.
If you live in NYS or some other locales in the NE and down into Maryland and VA, there’s always Wegman’s for inexpensive groceries and fantastic selection.
If you have one near you at all, it is well worth your while to go visit it and take a cooler for their very inexpensive club packs of chicken.
Their beef is overpriced, IMO. Their turkeys, however, the store brand, are fantastic. They are from the ol Plainville Turkey farms enterprise and are great quality
ALDIs and Rural King
I don’t think I’d buy anything from a place called ‘HE Butt’.
First of all, never utter the Walmart word”. It is now to be called only “Chinamart”. Ridicule. Alternatives? Stop buying the cheap crap and shop locally, pay a little more for quality and eventually local US/merchants will reappear and the economy will readjust accordingly.
Before we collectively condemn Kroger, please not that some of the press has been miss representing Krogers position. Kroger is only requesting no OPEN CARRY, they still allow concealed carry.
They have lower prices, but they never stock their shelves properly. If something is on sale, it's almost guranteed they won't have it.
And they grumble if you ask them to look in the back for it, or ask for a rain check.
So went back to our original market, closest to our house, a couple of months ago.
What a difference. While this place is a little more expensive, the employees are polite and helpful, and the shelves are well stocked. Also recognized some of the people were still working there from 10+ years ago.
The virtue signals from Kro. just makes it easy to keep shopping at our original market.
Wal Mart will be more difficult to do without but we are not going to spend money at a place so blatantly against American's God given right to keep arms. To heck with them.
Found best Walmart prices on fexofenadine allergy meds, Adkins products, and car supplies, like oil and antifreeze. I’ll be switching to Bartell’s drug store, Safeway, and O’Reilley’s, in that order, and biting the bullet on costs.
Only occasionally bought ammo there. Online prices are usually better, or at least competitive, and I have eclectic tastes that Walmart doesn’t cover. I also reload a lot.
I’m not setting foot in Walmart again. They can rot. And my wife totally agrees.
I watched Tucker last night and until then didn’t realize how bad a move this was by Walmart. Is it true, rural communities could be left without a place to buy ammunition or is that an exaggeration?
For groceries, Trader Joe’s is similar to Aldi. The top of the line Florida-based grocer Publix is privately owned and the founding family and major officers are pro-Republican.
Aldi for staples.
HEB for good Texas based groceries/specialties.
That about sums up my replacements.
I haven’t bought anything from Target in decades. Walmart only when I can’t find HEB, or I’m the day before a payday.
Kroger? They’re they closest to me, but I used to work that store, and now - they have the “self checkout” machines but don’t give me the employee 5 finger discount, so I avoid it when I can.

I’d say exaggeration. The mom and pop stores that were driven out of business when Wally World moved in will suddenly have a renaissance, and spring back up offering the small tack and goods of yesteryear.
Got it. Curious because it doesn’t sound like here in Canada that Walmart has such dominance. 25% of groceries in the USA come from Walmart? Wow.
I thought Wal-Mart drove all the local businesses out of small towns, then moved on to big towns. You know...like locusts.
Sorry, I agree with retailers exercising their property rights under the constitution. A sign on the door saying “no guns allowed” adequately communicates a term of service.
As the owner/manager of the property they have the right to limit what is brought onto/into their property. Refusing service to potential customers who feel at liberty to override the rights of the property owner is appropriate.
Anyone willing to challenge an owner’s property rights, contradicts the same constitutional rights that protect their free speech or right to carry.
I will acknowledge their right to refuse service by taking my business to retailers who share my respect for the rights acknowledged by our constitution. I will respect their rights while executing my freedom to associate with their competitors.
What a great tool. Thank you for sharing.
