I have seen it a couple times at WalMart in Newport News.
Strange Land: Strange Folks, on and on.....
Gunny G@PlanetWTF?
SemperTRUMP.45!
**************
Apparently CCW is still OK...............for now.............
I don’t shop at Wal Mart. If my .45 isn’t welcome there then neither am I.
This is just obvious virtue signalling. I have never seen anyone open carry on one of these stores. They are just making a statement to satisfy the gun grabbers that they know most people will not care about since no one does it anyway
I have to disagree. When your private property is open to the public you should have to accept what is legal in public. Now if Kroger wants to make their store a private club only open to members then fine make the rules as you see fit.
I live in rural West Virginia coal mining country, I will very rarely (maybe once a year) see some "good ol' boy" with a gun on his hip in a store. But it is so rare I notice when it occurs. And this is in what is likely one of the most pro-gun areas in the nation. In fact since West Virginia is now constitutional carry, there is really no need to open carry and it's actually kind of dumb to do so unless you just like showing off.
Just remember this folks, as long as the current Democrat Party chases gun control with silly useless legislation, the slaughter of innocents, the slaughter of African-Americans will on on forever. How dumb can the American people be? Have you all not learned anything? Mental illess and crime are the culprits...not the guns...period!!! Let our cops become proactive once again...and the problem seriously diminishes overnight. Outlaw guns and the slaughter will go forward unabated!!! This Democrat Party must be destroyed...politically forever!!!
I was wondering about that...That is good...
I have reasoned in the past that open carry is a mistake. You are just the first guy the bad guy shoots.... Etc. recently it occurs to me that open carry maybe should be more common to normalize it. Still not ready to do so personally but not as disinclined as I once was. NPCs need to see guns everywhere they look.
I’m shocked Kroger went this way. Sadly though I asked my daughter who works there “have they spoken about or had any open shooter drills” Nope.
Thankfully she’s been there a number of years since high school and knows all the back exits.
I find it hard to believe with a bank in the building they wouldn’t have some type of plan to evacuate
Good question. IMO that’s next. I concealed carry. Ain’t gonna stop because they change the rules or impose new policies. Yes, it is a private business but as a business dealing with the public there is something called public accommodations laws.
If I am forced to drive to a neighboring town to buy groceries or ignore their witless policy guess which one I’m going to choose.
A guy at a Walmart in Springfield, Mo was open carrying a few weeks ago and when some one drew down on him and called the police and had him arrested a lot of people around here were cheering that response. Now they’re condemning Walmart for ending open carry.
Only OPEN carry I see is law enforcement officers. I’ve had it with Kroger anyway. They push their store brand and never have all of what I’m looking for.......same with WalMart!
OC is common out here in the west.
Particularly in AZ and NV.
Don’t have first hand experience with TX.
When it’s 104º and you are wearing shorts and a Tee shirt, where are you going to hide anything?
Stupid ATF made wallet holsters an NFA item, but refuse to accept registering them.
I’ve never been to Kroger, and Wally-World is avoided as much as possible.
On occasion at our Smiths/Kroger in Reno, NV. Besides, they are “requesting” folks to NOT carry. I suppose they could ask you to leave if I, uh, I mean if someone were to open carry. Besides, I prefer no one know if I am.
