Stephanie Grisham, a White House spokeswoman, when asked why Trump didn’t attend, said that he instead had meetings with other world leaders. “The President had scheduled meetings and bilaterals with Germany and India, so a senior member of the Administration attended in his stead,” Grisham said in a statement to reporters. French President Emmanuel Macron said that Trump didn’t personally attend the climate session, but said that Trump’s team was present.

This would have been funnier:
Trump Doesn’t Attend the G7 Climate Session, stays home and washes hair instead.

Time is better spent elsewhere than hearing lying ‘sky is falling’ redistributive anti-West Marxists jabbering.

Yeah, I think a guy who has made billions worldwide probably knows who he needs to talk to about economics in international forums.

Damned straight — glad to see a POTUS not waste his time with virtue signalling, but actually talks to other leaders about substantive matters (hopefully).

“All G7 countries indicated they would give technical and financial help to battle the Amazon fires. That includes the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Britain, and Canada. ... They had agreed to provide $20 million in aid to stop the fires.”

such a small amount is less than a token and indicates that none of them actually give a shite about the fires in Brazil other than lip service: they might as well just burn that money itself for all the good it will do ... peasant farmers and loggers have been slashing and burning plots in the Amazon for at least half a century, which they then farm for one or two seasons before the soil fertility gives out due to lack of fertilizers, at which point repeat and burn ...

Why should the President waste his valuable time listening to more fake news about how we have destroyed the weather and planet?

Great news! If the US isn’t there, why have it all? It’s mostly our money they want.

Frankly, for a meeting of whatever the weird weather cult people put on, not having the US participate would fine with me. I worship a Creator, not what He created.

““Trump doesn’t attend G7, meets with oil executives to discuss opening up the arctic to drilling instead.”

What pisses me off about the oil industry is that they never spend advertising money on commercials that show the positive impacts that fossil fuels have had on the environment and for mankind. Fossil fuels saved the whales and the trees because before fossil fuels we burned trees for energy and whales for lighting at night. Yet not one peep comes from them in their own defense. Why?
