I have a question about Page and Strzok and the Special Counsel.

I just purchased Andrew McCarthy's Book, BALL OF COLLUSION. It's a riveting account that no one will be able to refute. I know the answer is in the book, and I'll find it, but I'm impatient, so I have two questions.

1.

HOW WERE THEY ABLE TO COLLECT THE TEXT MESSAGES OF PAGE AND STRZOK? YOU MEAN TO TELL ME, ALL OF OUR TEXT MESSAGES, PHOTOS ETC ARE ON SOME CLOUD, SOMEWHERE?

OR WAS IT BECAUSE, THE PHONES WERE FBI PHONES, AND THEREFORE, ALL TEXTS, PHONE CALL ETC ARE SAVED SOMEWHERE?

If, these text messages between them, are not stored somewhere, centrally, are you telling me these two ding bats NEVER deleted any of their texts?

I THINK THE ANSWER IS, THAT THEY DELETED THE MESSAGES FROM THEIR PHONES, BUT SINCE THE PHONES WERE FBI, THEY WERE PRESERVED.

But, wait. Didn't Mueller destroy their phones and whatever else was on them? So, they had some of the texts but not all?

2.

2nd question, probably will also be in the book.

Who ordered the Special Counsel? Sessions? Rosenstein? I thought it was Rosenstein, but what authority did he have? He reported to Sessions?

Sessions was obviously a complete loser on all accounts, especially if he allowed the special counsel to begin with in the first place.

Barr, must have been agonizing to watch the Justice Dept eat itself, not to mention the unfairness to the president.

When you use government IT equipment you must consent to monitoring in order to use it!

No.1. Mueller’s team claimed they couldn’t recover anything. But the inspectot general recovered the data very quickly. Likely from the backup server, but I don’t know.

No. 2. Sessions recused himself from all things Russian, so Rosenstein as his deputy appointed special counsel mueller [lower case intentional].

Even if you erase the text message, it’s still stored on the phone, just like information is stored on your computer.

I thought it was Rosenstein, but what authority did he have? He reported to Sessions?

Sessions recused himself from anything having to do with the Russians, effectively making Rosenstein the Atty General for that one specific thing and with that he ordered the Special Counsel and picked his henchmen.

As I understand it, text messages and emails on government devices are public records and are therefore saved indefinitely.
Anyone that thinks destroying a device eliminates records associated with that device does not understand messaging and email technology.

“Who ordered the Special Counsel? Sessions? Rosenstein?”

Rosenstein did. It was in his purview because Sessions had recused and he was #2.

1. The answer is BOTH. The FBI is authorized to monitor communications on any US property issued by the Bureau. While it is possible to recover the “internals” of a communication between individuals using the metadata associated with those communications, it is somewhat difficult and would, presumably, require a court order. However, if one or both of the parties in a communication are already UNDER INVESTIGATION, the internals, i.e., transcript already exists.

2. I think you’ll be surprised when the details emerge, but I’ll leave that one to others to respond (many different opinions) and time, which will answer the question for you in due course.

Do a little research before you post dumb questions

that’s not right....they recovered nothing from the phones that were part of Muellers operation.

they have recovered a good portion of the text from page an strzork. But there are lapses like right after the election

Yes, I know this. My question is what authority did Rosenstein have to assign the SC? Sessions is his boss.

I got the impression that Sessions was blind sided by this. How could that happen? A subordinate decides for a SC?

So, it leads me back to the original question. Did Sessions think of it and authorize it, without telling the president?

All, information on this, indicates that Sessions found out about the SC about the same time Trump did. Sessions offered his resignation at the time, Trump refused it, but told Sessions, my presidency is "blanked now."

How could Sessions be so spineless and naïve? How in the heck did this happen to begin with is the question?

Ok, that makes sense. Sessions stepped away, and ALLOWED them to form the SC.

What a dumb SOB.

Yes, I understand what you’re saying. You’re right. Sessions, by recusing himself, played into their hands.
