So how much would the Empire State Building weight on an Empire State Building sized asteroid?

Not very much, I would imagine. Not saying you would want to try to bench-press it, or anything.

At least not without a spotter.

That’s kind of my point -— water couldn’t crest the Sierra’s. And, if all the water in the world sloshed east from the Pacific, and it did crest the mountains, Arizona would be just as flooded.
