Grasshopper inundation are not a,new thing. My father told me of an inundation of grasshoppers on the family farm in the first decade of the 1900s in Eastern Ontario. He said the geese were never so fat from eating grasshoppers. He also said that trains had problems stopping b/c the grasshoppers covered the tracks and acted like grease on the rails as they were squashed by the train wheels.

They were like that several times during the nineteen sixties.

Nothing new.

Tucson had a plague of grasshoppers in the fifties. The roads were slippery and there were lots of accidents.

Tucson has been and is a leftist hole.

I don't remember the specifics but a few years ago, I remember the weather people telling us that there was a swarm of grasshoppers that was so large that it could be seen from space.

Point it, this has happened before. It might be unusual but it has happened in the past too.

We have been here in Vegas for three days and the only place I saw a grasshopper was on my fly. And, someone else pointed it out to me.

Here in S.E. Michigan, Lake St. Clair has its annual fish fly hatch......trillions of them.

All the communities along the shore line are filled with them at night as they swarm towards street lights and store fronts.......

On a positive note, their numbers are an indication of how healthy the lake is........

So Las Vegas gets the Locust plague first. How many more plagues before Las Vegas gets hit with the big one?

We were there for a few days last week. They were inside the theater flying around. The performers made jokes about them.

It’s a cycle. Increase in grasshoppers here in Pacific NW also. Apple pear plum trees, blue berries all having a bumper crop this year.

A chef there should make them part of the buffet and get his/her name tweeted.
