Remember the old days when the restaurant was THE business and people had to wait for the orders to clear the kitchen?

So now a driver gets to walk in and expect the order to be ready ahead of all the dine-in customers who have been waiting?

What is it about a driver who thinks that the world of commerce must conform to HIS timetable?

“Like I said not the hitting, but the restaurant is liable for the delay. “

What delay?

True. But it shows why this model may not be all that practical.

“You are clinically insane. “

For a dude that would hit on Justice Ginsberg I take your comment with a grain of salt.

I watched a promo of a robotic food delivery service set in SF. It had a human delivery woman yelling at a delivery robot.

The way the system worked was that when electronic order was ready and locked in an R2D2-esque bot, an unlock code was sent to the customer, and the robot headed out to the order address.

Yes, I can blame the driver. His reaction is totally out of line.

This.

Sure, it may have been a bad situation for the driver, but you go through the proper channels, or quit the job.

Yes, I can blame the drivers. They made a bad business decision, signing on with a service that has an unworkable business model.

Waiting a few minutes for a pizza is not a bad situation.

First off I really don’t believe that story.

Door Dash is just starting around here. I love the idea that I can order from a couple places and have it delivered. It is free here but, the prices are slightly raised by the food establishments. We were just talking about trying the service out soon. Nice change from just a pizza option.

I’m assuming that it is possible that this is something drivers may have to deal with more than once. Eventually it can tick a person off, since “time is money”, but there are other ways to respond than to throw a tantrum.

My son does this but you don’t make much money. Though he’s a skinny young guy and sometimes he gets to keep the food if the order gets canceled.

His funniest delivery was to a mansion in Bel Air; two people wanted peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Probably too stoned to make it to their giant kitchen.

Little guys need to be careful about the platforms with which they sign on. They have that power. Evidently this one has problems.

” a service that has an unworkable business model.”

A service in 1200 cities with a valuation of over $13 billion is deemed by you to be unworkable?

Screw the restaurant. There was nothing the driver could do.

Apparently the delivery driver disagrees with you, he decided he could blow up and cause disruption throwing a tantrum and physically assaulting the Pizza shop employee, then running away like a coward..........sounds like a democrat.

And why do you ASSume the pizza shop was at fault, were there other orders that came in before the one the delivery guy came for. The service should have simply contacted the customer, made them aware of the hold up in their order and asked if they wished to wait.

Obviously the driver was a little bitch who blew up because waiting means less orders to deliver cuts into his pay. Maybe he should learn some skills and get a job more in line with his personality.................something like Antifa thug.

“Like I said not the hitting, but the restaurant is liable for the delay.”

How so? If you call in an order and they say “15 minutes” yet get there 15 min. later and your order isn’t ready that’s just the way it is. There’s no contract that’s been broken.
