His wife was obviously a LOT smarter than he was...she was up on the roof of the car.
The guy? He deserved at least a full contact claw swipe from momma bear. A multiple-stitch trip to the ER might’ve woken him up to reality.

Comes to mind.
He said that a week before, while driving, he pointed out to the passengers that there was a momma bear and her cub on the other side of a field they were passing. A passenger asked him if he would please stop so she could take a picture. He stopped, and then she asked him if he would open the doors so that the picture wouldn't be through glass. He did, and he said she then jumped out and started jogging towards the bears - to get a better picture.
He said he was pleading with her not to, and to get back on the bus, but she ignored him. Then, the mamma bear got up on her hind legs, sniffed, and charged at the woman. The driver said it was horrifying to watch as this woman was running back to the bus, and the mamma bear was gaining on her.
He stopped telling us about it at this point, looking upset. We all asked, of course, what happened. He said he had to close the bus doors. We asked why. He said, because in California, it's against the law to let a woman on a bus with a bear behind.

Maybe if he had offered the bear a bottle of Coca Cola. Oh wait, that’s for polar bears.

Idiots of this sort endanger wildlife. Had the bear defended her young by clawing and/or chewing the fool, you can bet “the authorities” would have killed it. Too bad the other tourists didn’t give the jerk the wounds he so desperately craved.
That really takes a special kind of stupid.
