Dooley said that the leopard killed the impala after a few days spent in the Mashatu game reserve in the Tuli region of Botswana. He added: "This was certainly a highlight image of my life. We were photographing this leopard with her cub.”

I was expecting a 4 door chevy with serious claw mark damage.
If the old Impala had a 409 c.i. dual quad 425 hp motor under the hood with a 4 speed and 4:88 rear, I doubt anything could catch it in a quarter to a half mile.

Leopards are incredibly beautiful creatures in the wild.
I hope that enough wild spaces endure so that they do not become extinct.

Indeed, not only Leopards and Jaguars are incredibly beautiful, the speed and athleticism of these creatures is astounding. I read somewhere that now more tigers live in Zoo’s than the wild.
Sounds about right. One of my co-workers had a 3.27 rear and was so proud of his car’s ability to sprint forward.

actually no, there are tons of leopards, close to a million in Africa.
My brother bought a 4 door 1964 Impala in the fall of 1963.
Then he got drafted. We garaged his car for two years.
When he got out he traded it in for a 1965 Triumph.

The problem with these large predators is that they require a lot of space in which to range and hunt.
Human civilization has expanded into many of these areas, reducing habitat and prey.
One of the things I enjoy about living in California is that there are still some lions roaming the mountains. One must take precautions, but I’d rather do that than have no lions.
Check out this SNOW Leopard kill. Most amazing video I have seen in a long time. The Leopard never lost its grip and survived a plunge down a rocky cliff. I had to watch this a couple times:
