I wish I could walk for more than 5 minutes without collapsing in pain. My days as a tourist are over. I used to go to Europe every year or so in search of medieval marvels, the great cathedrals,etc. Now I collect them on the internet and drool, ahahah!

My apologies. The first time I went thru the museum, I snapped like crazy but was afraid of running out of battery and didn't get the signs. Tried to look things up later. This was from that frantic day. Next visits I knew I could get the signs and was better prepared. This was from the first or second African room, but that's all I remember. There was another one like that of a single golden figure. I have zip interest in African art, so haven't pursued it.

admission is “by voluntary contribution”
A friend was taking his family and a flock of neighbor kids to the Field Museum, Chicago.
While waiting in line he noticed many locals and youths just ran in?
When he asks about it, they said it is a voluntary contribution, the prices listed are simply a guide.
He tossed a couple of bucks on the counter, said thanks and walked in.
