Today is U.S. Womens National Team (USWNT) player Alex Morgans birthday, but the celebration shell remember most about this particular birthday has nothing to do with her age.
The USWNT was in a tense and hard-fought contest with England on Tuesday afternoon at the Womens World Cup semi final in France. When all of a sudden, Morgan broke through the English defense and used a brilliant header to put the ball into the back of the net.
The goal would have been good enough, but the trolling of England with the tea sip celebration complete with upturned pinky, took things to another level.

That has been the gesture for the whole England team since the beginning of the world cup this year.
Remember it well!
Poor sportsmanship is dishonorable and disreputable. When a sportsman accomplishes a fear, he behaves like hes done it before. This was a trashy act, and shameful.
Right, and that kind of indifference to her dissing of Trump seems strange.
Fat thumbs here.
Correct
Maybe this alone wasn’t a big deal, but on top of the celebrations against Thailand, it shows a clear pattern.
Though I didn’t know about her refusal to visit the WH until I read further into the thread.
I agree. They are a foul embarrassment.
Those were spider man eyes
Totally disgusting. Why not seek a psychiatrist to tell your stories to instead of spilling your bilge all over Free Republic?
When I was a kid - the 60s - if you made fun of the losing side, the coach would punish you. Then your parents would.
“It is hard to imagine Lombardi not fuming at the sight of a mediocre defensive lineman dancing with self-celebratory delight after making a routine tackle in the second quarter with the team trailing by 14 points. One of the many sayings attributed to him (it had also been put in the mouth of fellow coaching legend Paul Brown) is something that he supposedly said to the great kick returner Travis Williams in 1967 when Williams danced after scoring a touchdown: Travis, the next time you make it to the end zone, act like youve been there before. As the story goes, that was all that needed to be said.”
There’s some dispute on whether it was Lombardi, or Paul Brown that came up with, “Act like you’ve been there before”
I’m a believer in Karma, and what goes around coms around....we’ll see how this ends up.
Im not sure it was tea party patriotism but rather heres to you tea swilling POMs
Thats a common refrain
Ouch
Doodle aint gonna like that one.
Considering that the Brits love to taunt the Germans when they play with the chant “Two World Wars, and One World Cup....Dooo Daahh Dooo Daaah”, we could have done a similar chant to the Brits considering we won two wars against them.
There’s something sickening about Women’s soccer and their idiotic celebrations after scoring.
Watching Fox and their pregame yesterday about made me want to hurl when it got to the point of idolatry for these pampered brutes playing in the world cup.
The lack of sportsmanship (yes I sad ‘man’), respect, and graciousness of these players is shocking.
I hate the US Women’s Soccer team and the way the media portrays them. It’s absolutely appalling!
