Elton John slammed Russian President Vladimir Putin for being hypocritical on LGBT issues after Kremlin distributors censored Rocketman, a recent biopic about the singer-songwriter's life and career throughout the years.
In an interview with the Financial Times, published Thursday, Putin declared that Russia had "no problem with LGBT persons." A day later, John took to social media to call out Putin's comments as hypocritical. In a statement shared to Twitter, the 72-year-old musician condemned the Russian leader for allowing distributors in his country to censor LGBT-scenes in Rocketman.
"Dear President Putin, I was deeply upset when I read your recent interview in The Financial Times," John wrote. "I strongly disagree with your view that pursuing policies that embrace multicultural and sexual diversity are obsolete in our societies."

I love his music, particularly the early stuff I grew up with in the 70’s. I have desire to sit through this movie. It would probably ruin the music for me.

So I take it that the singer is against censorship. Good to know.
I was able to tolerate bohemian rhapsody because they limited it to kissing and at least Freddie Mercury realized he was a super flawed character and seemed to try to redeem himself. So to me, while the movie didn’t hide the queer aspect, it seems to me to portray it as his downfall. Which it was.
Will I feel the same about rocket man?
In fact the movie had lewd scenes cut by distributor to upgrade from a sort of NC - 17 to PG and make more money off it. Which generally failed anyway.

There was some queer aspect but only with his bf manager who was just so handsome...the guy in tbe Bodyguard series. He is not gay. Must be hard to fake those kisses. The music was awesome I was dancing in my seat.

It is less than necessary to capitulate to the liberal desire for legitimization of the homosexual community. They know they are an aberration. They know what they are, and do is unacceptable behavior, therefore there is no benefit to society as a whole to cave to their frivolous demands of tolerance, and acceptance.
