Perhaps they should consider the example of Rui Hachimura, recently drafted by the Washington Wizards. He’s the first Japanese player drafted in the first round, and speaks of his responsibility to represent his country.

Yes, he used to play for Gonzaga...He does not look like some angry guy who is bitter about some injustice.
His father is from Africa. His mother is Japanese...It is possible that, when he was growing up, some kids made fun of him because he was not “100%” Japanese. I am just speculating...Japan is not like US.
In any case, I might actually watch some games when Hachimura plays...I am curious about how much success he will have in NBA...There are not many Asian players in NBA. There was Yao Ming...I thought that he was a fine player. I also thought that he was a nice guy...

I will try to watch the USMNT...I did watch some highlights of Gold Cup on Fox Soccer Tonight.
I will definitely watch the Gold Cup final between US and Mexico if that happens this year.
I actually do not mind watching women’s soccer...I do intend to watch the final game of this World Cup even if USWNT is not playing in that game...

I do remember him...He was with Toronto Raptors and got the championship ring...He played for a minute during the Finals.
He may play again next season. He is a free agent.
Concur with all. The USWNT has made themselves unpopular with half the country, most of whom are not watching them, even right now as they play France.
