NBA commissioner Adam Silver says moving away from the term "owner" makes sense -- telling TMZ Sports, "We moved away from that term years ago."
We broke the story ... multiple NBA teams (including the Clippers and 76ers) have stopped using the title owner because they feel it's racially insensitive in a league where the majority of the players are black.
When we saw Silver out in NYC, we asked if he supported the decision and how the league office is handling the issue.

So then, what will you refer to them as? Possessor?
And the ‘fidiocy’ continues unabated. So, boss is out. Overseer is out. How about check signer?
HOW ABOUT ‘MASSAH’?
Eliminating the word owner brings us one step closer to communal ownership.
Ree -Dick- Que- Loss!!!
If you have power, and decline to use it, others will take that power away from you in various subtle ways.
If they were The Owners, there would be no hesitation using that description. It’s a big accomplishment. Be proud of it.
The NBA is racist because the majority of the players are black. They need more white players.
Also, the problem with the word “owner” has nothing to do with race or slavery, really. The issue is that after the Communist Revolution and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat is fully in place, no one will own anything. Not so much as the clothes on your back or the food in your refrigerator. So, we need to stop talking about “owners” today in all contexts.
Oh, for Pete’s sake. How many times have you heard Player reps themselves refer to “owners”, especially in union negotiations especially when typically common terms are labor and management?
Doesn’t Adam Silver always look like he has Cancer?
The best paid slaves I’ve ever heard of right there. Does the trainer or assistant coach do the flogging?
And the concerted attack on property rights continues unabated.
Master.
Plantation Minister.
Slave Trader.
Idiot.

Whatever word they use it still means the same thing.
Gosh. How insensitive of me for saying to people I am a home owner. Some cant afford a home. Its getting that bad.
Were I to comment on this thread, it would get me banned.

Grow the hell up! Friggin snowflake!
So, if no one “owned” the slaves of 5 generations ago - what is all the b!tching about?
Can we still own a house or car ... until they take those away from as being too privileged.
