U.S.A. -(Ammoland.com)- Large, powerful, political organizations such as the National Rifle Association (NRA) are seldom transparent or without internal struggles.

The internal struggles at the NRA have been enlarged to engulf Christopher W. Cox, head of the NRA Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA). Christopher Cox has been suspended from his position at the head of the NRAILA.

Apologies if already posted but this is the first I've heard of it, from another source. Posting excerpt from Ammoland's article because other source, which I discovered linked to from another source, is verboten here at FR IIRC.

Very bad stuff still happening, prominent NRA board member and prominent Oklahoman Dan Boren seems to have gotten mixed up in it all, unfortunately.

Ollie North got more votes than anyone else in the most recent election for NRA Board of Directors. Not taking sides here, but as a Life Member, I sent them a letter basically telling them to get it together. Gotta keep our eyes on the prize. Holding onto and restoring the Second Amendment.

I see no mention of Dan Boren in the article at all, so how does he figure in this as you claim?

NRA needs to have an independent commission investigate all these machinations, give members a credible explanation, and clean house as necessary. But who can be trusted to do the investigating? Mueller and Weinstein are available; we know they’d be fair and quick too. /S

It's not I who make the claim, but this is the deal:

1) The "Other" source that went into detail about it is verboten here at FR, period. Verboten enough that I'm not going to name it, I know better.

2) Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the deal with Boren, because it is dirty laundry and unhappy days for the Boren family for now reason number two... plenty of it, all available from various sources... having to do with money, political ambition and matters of the flesh...

3) Very bad turmoil at the NRA, all about personalities more than anything else.

I don't count myself in either faction, my loyalty and my justification for membership in the NRA is the Second Amendment.

Anyone who expects to stay in a job because "He's always been there", living very large on your/my/our donations, or anyone who's inclined to throw his weight around, however it's rationalized (like just hypothetically if someone is a prominent former military officer who just expects people automatically to be deferential to him no matter what kind of ugliness he instigates) to the detriment of the supposed greater cause, they can both go get screwed for all I care, and take everyone who's been involved in it with them. Even if they live within an afternoon drive of me.

Just start over if necessary.

“The NRA is legally incorporated in New York State.”

Okay, this is obviously a problem.

A corporation can change its state of incorporation.

Moving a Nonprofit to Another State

https://charitylawyerblog.com/2017/11/01/moving-nonprofit-another-state/

If the Republicans do very well in the next election, taking back congress, the NRA should appeal to President Trump to “grease the skids” for its move to another state. Then the NRA could open up bidding with states that would be thrilled to host the NRA.

Though it is a non-profit, states can still give the NRA major incentives to move there, and many would.

I'm old and can't read too well I guess. Perhaps you could be so kind as to provide a link to an FR thread or even a keyword. I tried "banglist", "secondamendment" and "nra" but came up empty.

I don’t know fellow sojourners but something is rotten in Fairfax. I’ve been a member since 1961 and really don’t want to hear this turmoil anymore. I’ve always thought of Ollie North as a stand-up Marine and if he couldn’t take it then get your shit together NRA. 2020 is looming and we have to get it right.

The NRA is rotting from the inside: Wayne LaPierre style.
Loads of shady crap going on there for the last few years.
All of the gun podcasts that I listen to are talking about it.

The NRA has been Wayne LaPierre’s personal bank account for years. What the communist left couldn’t accomplish they’ve done to themselves.

I hope GOA and SAF have a plan to take up the lobbying slack. The NRA with its shady business dealings and betrayal of its purpose is swirling the drain.

Don’t worry. NY AG is doing it now.

The sad thing is the NY AG’s investigation is politically malicious; however they have legit legal justification for the investigation.

LaPierre truly is a criminal, both for what we are likely to lose in terms of gun rights and for actual criminal acts.

I hope everyone who cares about the 2A has a plan.

We are going to be on our own very soon, and we really can’t even rely on Trump or the GOP at this point.

I’m not sure snakes are to blame inside the NRA, but I am sure the Democrats will magnify, manufacture, and exploit whatever is going on to undermine the organization. Donating to the NRA is going to be tough until they demonstrate that insiders are not carting off the funds. NY AG = criminal.
