Let’s see. Dayton. Wright Patt. Weather ballon? Yes sir that’s the ticket .
Ha. I remember the Barney Miller episode with Wojo on the phone to... I think it was the FBI, saying, “What? I can’t tell them that! Oh come on! (sigh) Yes sir. Yes sir.” Then he hangs up and says sarcastically, “It’s a weather balloon.”
Swamp gas.
That’s interesting, they just had some white dots in the sky in Kansas City.
It’s either a weather balloon, or an intergalactic jellyfish. Not to offend any fans of The Abyss, but my money is on weather balloon.
Sometimes a white dot really is just a white dot......
Given the close proximity to Wright Patterson AFB, I would imagine this is likely.
Reminds me of the first time I saw a stealth fighter. My son was playing soccer in a tournament near there, in Englewood. You couldnt hear one sound of an approaching jet, and then, out of nowhere, there it was right on top of us! Gave me goose bumps and sense of pride in my country.
“...the ALTA vehicle is designed to navigate by changing altitude and thus taking advantage of different wind profiles aloft”
People who are into High Altitude Balloon Photography are able to control their balloon flight and altitude. Amateur balloons get up to 115,000 feet. Their autonomously controlled balloons fly at 80,000 feet and have flown from California to Morocco.
Here’s some more detail about the DARPA program:

That actually does look like a weather balloon. Launching something in daylight over the place “where they took the aliens” does not seem like a good “test plan.”
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Ask monica.
It's always the same pattern with them when they show the imagery.
Is it a top secret government project (always top secret)? Are we being invaded by space aliens?
Then, oh wait, it's a man made object anyone with a history book knows about or can tour if they go there.
Pie pans suspended by balloons . . .
*ping*
1. now we know why there’s a sudden helium shortage
2. so much for the ‘dark sky’ laws mandating porch and street lights that only shine down and only certain hours
3.if we have these, including those equipped with solar powered propulsion, who else does?
4. future of air travel?
Well, it is kinda close to Cincy,....maybe someone in the government thought Turkeys could fly. Lol.
