Attended the Dayton Airshow in 1994. The B-2 was scheduled for a flyover. I was walking among the static displays when I happened to look up and it was doing a low pass right over me. Barely heard it. Yup, felt that swelling in my chest.
Same...the micro variety. One of the best times I’ve ever had.
That was back when they were still showing current military tech. The last one we attended, during 2016, the last year of the Obama Debacle, was all Vietnam Era or older ... extremely disappointing. They have a B-2 and an F-22 on display in the Air Force Museum just down the road in Dayton, so it's not exactly hard to get up close to one. Must not have wanted to cause any Democrats attending to get the vapors.

Tony: Goodyear?
Reverend Jim: NO! It was a terrible year.
It's always the same pattern with them when they show the imagery.
Is it a top secret government project (always top secret)? Are we being invaded by space aliens?
Then, oh wait, it's a man made object anyone with a history book knows about or can tour if they go there.
Pie pans suspended by balloons . . .

LOL!
I was in the USAF from '87-'94. My first actual viewing of one was at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson. We were hosting an Air Show over the weekend, and one was due in for the show. Prior to this, I'd never seen one live, just in video. We were listening to air traffic control in anticipation of its arrival. When it was on approach, we ran outside and the same thing happened; No noise, then it was there. Same sense of pride. Same goosebumps.
A year prior, my unit was invited to Mountain Home AFB in Idaho, for another air show. There was a "Static Display" of the F-117 with stanchions/rope all around, and a shadow of an F-117 painted on the ground. Even a couple of "armed" guards (no mags in rifles) to complete the illusion. My dad came to visit me at the air show (I'm originally from Idaho), and we both had a good laugh at that one.
Of course if you can remember it, you really wern’t there!
1. now we know why there’s a sudden helium shortage
2. so much for the ‘dark sky’ laws mandating porch and street lights that only shine down and only certain hours
3.if we have these, including those equipped with solar powered propulsion, who else does?
4. future of air travel?
In SC, we have the orange lights. I know exactly what they are.
Well, it is kinda close to Cincy,....maybe someone in the government thought Turkeys could fly. Lol.
Well the B1 makes so much noise flying over your head it feels like an earthquake lol.
OHIO PING!
Please let me know if you want on or off the Ohio Ping list.
