Safety deposit boxes can no longer have gold bullion or non-collectible currency
This has been the case for at least ten years. At least at my bank.
It has to do with liability in case of a robbery.
Buy a fireproof safe and have it bolted to your floor.
Bitcoins. Sure you can. Just close your eyes and think about it real hard. They will show up in your bank. Its magic.
I dunno, I had a couple of pounds at one time. I used to take it out of the safe and look at it. I felt like Scrooge MacDuck.
Better to make it into thick chains and ropes and wear it around your neck like a rapper... always carry a Glock.
Do you think a clerk has trouble with “a couple pounds”?
Seriously, whenever gold gets brought up on a mainstream news or investment asset program, somebody always brings up “it’s really heavy” as if this is some sort of a deal breaker, or insurmountable issue precluding gold for serious consideration as part of a portfolio. LOL!!
Jeeze Louise, it is remarkably dense and heavy, that’s true, but like I said most people could carry their net worth in gold coin around in their front pocket and nobody would be the wiser.
He was trying to force money (effectively pulled from the economy at a time of deflation) back into circulation.
Funny.
Ferrous and non-ferrous metals give off very different sigals to a metal detector, and a skilled operator can discern that quickly. After the nails are removed, there’ll still be a noticeable non-ferrous signal.
Time to switch banks.
Get with the program. Bicoins are currency used by the LGBTQ community year round, not just during LGBTQ month. Bitcoins are currency used by normal people.
Well the 100 dollar bills have that band on them. They can detect how much money your carrying!! !0’s and 20’s they don’t know.. bullion is a little bulky!
I dont think it is anything new, My mom told me she got the same notification 3 or 4 years ago from Chase when she changed to a smaller box.

A better technique is to put some of your lesser valuables in the safe, then “Goldfinger” the rest. That is, if you have gold, for example, machine and paint it to look like car parts in the appropriate packaging.
So when they bust in to steal your stuff, and crack your safe, they get a couple of old guns, a painting of a sheep worth $100 because of its frame, a few banded stacks of $5 bills, and an old baseball autographed Babe Ruth, in ballpoint ink.
Who is going to root through your garage looking for car parts?
Then what is the reason for safety deposit boxes?
True. But they would need to know where it actually is, and know that it exists.
I said “It it is a federal rule”. It was a typo. The first “it” should have been “if”. :D
