The pastor of a northern Virginia church has apologized to his congregation for praying for President Trump when the president made an unscheduled stop at his church on Sunday.
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that we didnt see coming, and were faced with a decision in a moment when we dont have the liberty of deliberation, so we do our best to glorify God, Pastor David Platt of McLean Bible Church in Vienna said in a statement to church members. I found myself in one of those situations.

I hope the minuscule drop in your Sunday collection won't be too big a burden for YOU to bear
Wut?
What a loon
Well, we are supposed to pray for our leaders, and for those who persecute us.
So the prayer is correct, either way.
What? I just saw the prayer, beautiful and he takes it back? What he won’t get a new airplane? Pool? Hell with megachurches
He prayed some garbledy gook about equity. I’m trying to think of where equity is in the Bible. Maybe someone can enlighten me. I just read his impromptu prayer via al.com. Keep seeking, President Trump.
Is this fake news?.....or is he really apologizing for what The Bible says we are to do...Pray for our leaders
My Pastor did!
Where is BS meter when you need it.
Mat 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Mat 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Mat 5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
Mat 5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Mat 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
And this sort of behavior is why even with all these numbers, the church at large in America is so weak!
If true, thisn pastor (and others like him) could lead a thing or two from Trump. God doesnt pick perfect people to lead . But he certainly does pick bold ones, unafraid to stand tall in the face of evil, to go against the crowd, and willing to take great leaps of faith.
A minister apologizing for praying for a president?
That man is not an apparent Christian.
Sorry. typos from prior post. Reposting with edits:

Nor is some of that congregation.
Psyops. Sleeping Giant brought down fire and brimstone from all quarters, and he buckled under the pressure.
Coward.
Maybe instead of apologizing he should be praying for the people who complained...
Lovely Christian congregation ya got there, Padre
Well, this is VA....
See what else VA churchgoers don’t approve of....
A historic church, once attended by George Washington, will pull down a plaque honoring the nation’s first president because it makes some of their worshippers uncomfortable.
Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia, where Washington was once a parishioner, has a small brass plate on one of the pews marking where Washington and his wife, Martha, sat every Sunday. But because Washington was once a slave owner, Christ Church’s leadership says the plates will have to be removed.
