I just tried to buy some health insurance and gee whiz, I am not allowed! How about that? It seems in New York you can only buy it in November due to the Obamacare enrollment mandate. I just got off the phone with a broker who told me. What kind of insanity is this? So if I get some disease or severely injured from now till November I'm basically screwed. Isn't government intervention wonderful?

I spoke with an agent who told me the same thing. He told me there’s a way around it though. He said change your address and everything will sail right through. He suggested changing it to my son’s address who lives about a mile from me.
I kind of envy you for being able to go for so long and not know this is the way it’s been since Obamacare went into effect. If you just got laid off go for COBRA.

No, I’m a truck driver and I’ve been going for a while without insurance being the moron I am. Then a friend of mine recently got a hernia lifting something, really BAD one where his intestines pushed out, and guess what? No insurance so he is utterly screwed so I said I better buy some, but oops! Not allowed!

New York is one of the five states I’ve never been to. I hear upstate is nice, but I have no desire to see NYC and upstate is similar enough to other states that it is easily avoided.
Was it President Trump once suggested health insurance become available across all state lines???

Was your other coverage cancelled or withdrawn?
I drove for Werner for a few years before going independent. I made a little more money on my own but it was nice having Werner pick up the half tab for decent coverage. Safe travels, sir.
