Donald Trump is a winner.

Why people fail to realize that is beyond my comprehension. It continues to amaze me that supposedly smart people fail to realize it. Scott Adams is incorrect. Social media will not be the secret weapon.

During the election, I wondered about certain conservatives and libertarians would do, who despised speaking about Trump.

There were pundits and commentators, well respected and informed, particularly Mark Levin, Greg Gutfeld, one Rush Limbaugh, the latter who, I imagine in his loathing, had sunk to name-calling, referred to us as ’Trumpists’, who had no plans for the possibility for Trump’s winning.

I wondered how they were going to handle it when he won. I knew they each had enough virtue too accept it as the will of the electorate. They would have to go along with their audience, distastefully, at first, but these three, just as examples of the many, would end up liking Trump, for his patriotism, if nothing else.Trump was going to try for the sake of the country. They’d get on board but how would it unfold

This is unlike the left, who I knew would fight the will of the people, every step of the way. Trump, being an incorruptible honest broker, would shed light on their high crimes. Here’s how an honest businessman turns $200 million inherited into $9 billion earned. He does not deal with dishonest people on their terms.

That’s the left. Mainstream pundits on the right (Fox and radio) compromise. They’re so used to mediating RINO ideas into the mix they is not recognize Trump as the person to come in and DO what they’ve been proposing someone should do. They saw him as their RINO or Bushy champions were portraying him.

After the election Mark continued to elaborate on Trump’s faults, not like the left does, with their holier than though hypocrisy, but with an honest criticism and a negativity which I found unnecessary.

Mark has eased into recognizing and detailing how the left refuses to peacefully transfer power per the electorate. He sees how outrageously Trump is maligned as a representative of the electorate. Mark has stopped the negativity.

Greg has found a comfortable position, defying his Trump-hating Bushy crowd, in illustrating the entertaining quality of the everyone-in-government versus Trump fight. Gutfeld does so in a cheerful tenth-grade-boys-on-the-bus tone from wher he can cheer on the president in his quest to get things done for the right reasons. Gutfeld slipped in last week that he had not voted for Trump. We Catholics call that confession.

Rush eased in to accepting the will of his audience. He fully does not buy that there was something wrong with the election. He knows Trump is the choice. Simple

These three are smart. They were surprised, which continues to confuse me. How can smart people like these guys not see that Trump is a winner. He studies his obstacles.

I expect Scott Adams to be surprised

I’m a collector of LP’s and have three turntables. One plays 78’s and I just got a 78 stylus for it a few months ago. Records are making a huge comeback and have been for years. And a lot of that is due to young hipsters. In fact, many of them are buying records even though they don’t have a record player.

There are TONS of youtube channels by young people devoted to vinyl. You may already know this, though. ;)

If not, search “vinyl comeback”. It will get you started...

He did call Trump early, but that was a win-win for himself. Even if Trump lost he’d come out ahead and call his opinions a comic strip joke. He was also wrong about why Trump won. Ironically Michael Moore had it right — before the election he was concerned the Rust Belt would give Trump the victory. Afams’ giving credit to “persuasion” is itself persuasion that he is an expert voice. He doesn’t give an unbiased remembrance of his failures such as the House staying R.

He’s also godless. He believes he is living in a simulation. I used to listen to his daily Periscope audio (his attempt to become immortal), but stopped because it’s too contrary to the True Master of the Universe.

Thanks rightwingintelligentsia. It's drivel like that which keeps Scott A out of the "talking heads" industry.

Tommy Robinson in the UK is making the same accusation, that the populists would have done better in the EU elections if it were not for fake news on social media.

The only thing standing between total social media shutdown of conservatives is Donald Trump and his Twitter account.

Scott Adams’ admiration for President Trump’s persuasion skills has always struck me as being both back-handed andself-serving.

“Back-handed” because of the inference that the President didn’t win because of the substance of his ideas and character, but rather because he’s very good at manipulating people. There were many who dismissed Ronald Reagan in the same back-handed way by calling him The Great Communicator. It is intended to sound like a compliment, but the real message is that he is such a good actor that he can make his bad ideas sound good. Both Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan deserve to be recognized as strong conservative leaders aside from whatever communication skills or persuasion skills they may possess - Scott Adams does not get that.

“Self-serving” because Scott Adams’ analysis of President Trump’s persuasion skills only serves one purpose: a way of showcasing Scott Adams’ persuasion skills. Scott Adams’ ego is so big he doesn’t the bother to hide the fact. He constantly uses the “it takes a magician to recognize a magician” argument, basically saying, “You people can’t possibly see how clever Trump is - lucky for you I am the cleverest of all, so I can explain it to you.

So what’s really happening here is that it’s becoming pretty obvious that President Trump is headed for another big win in 2020, not through persuasion or manipulation but simply by making really good promises and honestly fighting hard to keep them.

In effect, Scott Adams’ has been been proven wrong, and irrelevant. So he’s going to pull a 180° and predict a Trump loss. He’s just trying to get attention by saying something nobody else is saying.

I never get malware because I never use the internet. In fact, I don’t use a smart phone or computer. I never touch the internet at all! I never read it, I never post in it. It doesn’t exist for me. You gotta tell me your secret on how you post to Free Republic from you IBM Selectric!

In the early 80's in the Air Force i worked on a computer system that used a modified IBM Selectric as a printer! So there!

Mega-corps (corporatism) share a lot of the same flaws/issues as big government - or any other monopoly.

With the internet, we have entered some new territory socially, as frenzied behavior can reach from anywhere to anywhere, and critical masses of destruction are simple to coalesce.

In the late 1970s, i worked on a computer system that had a teletype-like device for printer and keyboard. It also had twin 1" reel-to-reel tape drives for program storage, and magnetic core memory for RAM.

The computer was called CENPAC and controlled our test stations for avionics maintenance of the F-111A.

I worked on the ITT 465L which was used used at SAC bases...the main unit in the command center at the main base and sub units in missile capsules. Same deal...magnetic core memory. Main unit had a thermal printer (early 80’s or so). Basically it would relay text messages on screen and print out a hard copy.

Too much of public discourse is under the control of corporations that do not want to allow free speech. So far as i'm concerned, they are so big they need to be held to the same requirements as government.

Censoring speech should be illegal in the United States of America.
