Author and media personality Scott Adams stated in a recent video that he believes that President Trump’s chances of winning the 2020 selection cycle have been significantly lowered due to the power that social media has over public discourse. In a YouTube video titled “Episode 540 Scott Adams: Slaughtermeter Reset to Zero Due to Social Media Manipulation, Pelosi,” Adams discusses how Silicon Valley tech firms manipulate online discourse and how this can affect real-world elections, citing a recent incident surrounding a video of Nancy Pelosi as an example of this.
Adams begins the video stating: “You all know that I’ve been talking about what I call the slaughter meter. The slaughter meter is a measure of how the election will go and whether President Trump will win by a small slaughter or a large slaughter, and I update it based on current events so it’s not really a prediction it’s more like a moment in time in which the current conditions — if they were to continue until the end — would give you that result.”

The statement is true for a number of topics. Ted Kazinski, Brenton Tarant, Qanon ( as posted), Tommy Robinson, etc. what Adams says here isn’t wrong so much as not entirely correct, IMHO. The “Twitterverse” probably represents only about 10% of US voters (or so I hear). It is a massive echo chamber that IMHO overestimates it’s own relevance. As normal people increasingly recognize what a group of delusional retards they are and people turn away from the Brown Shirt Media Trump’s chances improve significantly, in my opinion. I continue to anticipate Trump’s re-election will be larger than Reagan’s.

I don’t agree with Mr. Adams, but to dismiss him is to be foolish, he was one of the few folks calling out 16 for Trump from very early on...
You have to remember what he did during the run up to the 2016 election. He predicted trump would be President (maybe as early as 1992). He told everyone why it would happen -superior persuasion skills, etc. He then took the position that he was for Hellary and against Trump. He was receiving death threats , his business interests were suffering e.g., newspapers were threatening to cancel Dilbert, etc. I now take his certainty on Trump losing to these “Masters of the Universe” as 180 degree opposite. I take his sue of the term “masters of the Universe” as derision aimed at the social media tech companies - again the opposite!
