It looks like a government building: blocky, imposing, Brutalist but with minarets. Why no windows? Give me a medieval cathedral full of windows and inspiring art that pull the eyes, mind and heart to heaven.

Lots of rooms for sitting. One looks like it is preserved from the ‘50s or 60s. Another is supposed to be for quiet reflection but the couches and chairs are arranged like a hotel lobby for conversation. The baptismal room is the only one that gives me a clear indication it is for religious ceremony but something about it creeps me out. Only the north chapel looks at all church like, akin to a very nicely appointed version of a small town Baptist church. Most of the rest of it just looks like a nice conference center.

Me, too. Or even an old-fashioned, humble country church.

(The Mormon Temple seen from the DC Beltway looks like Disneyland...it's also right at a dangerous curve in the road. I don't like driving by it.)
