When my wife and I were young most of the state was conservative with just Olympia, Seattle and Tacoma dominated by liberal idiots. We had Republican governors, Republican control of legislatures and a State Supreme Court with non-activist judges. Since that time we have had such a huge influx of Californians and other new immigrants many from 3rd world countries who never bother to learn English. It is now fairly unusual to meet people who were born and raised here.
Our taxes are going through the roof, our property taxes have more than doubled in the last three years. The Democrats desperately want new carbon taxes and a state income tax. They want vast amounts of money more than what they currently spend for new liberal social programs and “green energy” programs along with even more trains that almost no one rides.

Move to Idaho.
I live in Spokane, my daughter lives near Sandpoint. She is absolutely furious with Inslee’s forest mis-management program. In WA, no brush clearing is allowed. Therefore, summer fires roar through and destroy trees, keep us at dangerous levels of smoke inhalation a hundred miles from the forests. This year, we are predicted to have massive forest fires with massive loss of trees and wildlife and homes.
Idaho does clear brush, at least as much as they can. Lumbering is very important to the economy. A renewable resource if trees are not turned to cinder.
Inslee is a moron who needs to go. He declared WA a sanctuary state. What could possibly go wrong? All it takes is one moose limb with a pack of matches....

And what kind of vehicle does that key go to?
Being in our late 60s, we opted to be a lot closer to health care and bought north of CdA last year. Our house is only a mile from where my Mom’s folks retired in the mid 60s.
So the eternal dilemma is;
Stay and fight,
Shelter in place or
Retreat to more friendly climes

I like where I live...eastern washington....but our economy here is OKAY but not the boom boom of the west side...of course, you have the state govt giving special tax benefits to Boeing so what the heck do we expect...

I was born here (in WA), as was my father and grandmother. Dad passed away last year, and mom is not doing too good. Once she is gone, I am thinking about moving to the Mexican Coast. CHEAPER everything, less pollution, internet just as good. I can telecommute to my job, and just need to return to the US every 6 months for an hour or two.
The Leftists (Seattle) here will kill this state; just like ALL the other dem/communist/left places they infest.
