The song calls it a Super Stocked Dodge. Chrysler and Dodge were the same company weren’t they?

Super stocked Dodge is flyin’ out in low
but my fuel injected Stingray’s really startin’ to go.
To get the traction I’m a ridin’ the clutch,
My pressure plate’s burnin’
That machine’s too much!

Pedal’s to the floor hear his dual quads drink!
The 413’s lead is startin’ to shrink!
He’s hot with Ram induction but it’s understood
I’ve got a fuel injected engine sittin’ under my hood!

The more I think about it, I believe his car had two four barrels instead of the 3 two barrels. I remember back in the 60s being surprised that a luxury car would have that performance package.

Seeing those newer wheels and tires on all kinds of old classics now. Got a friend who posts pics on FB, 50’s and 60’s Chevys, Fords mostly. Gorgeous classics, some with nice custom paint, but the modern wheels and tires are out of synch.

IMO, the only way they look right on older cars is when they're on a highly customized retro-mod, where the body and interior have been altered from original.

**We were on a fairly wide street at night but cars were parked on both sides.**

Ha! Did your brother find out not long after? I mean, that sort of thing leaves bits of melted rubber stuck in the wheel wells and on the lower rear fenders.

Yeah, that’s more like what I’m accustomed to seeing on American 60s and 70s performance cars.

Part of me says, yeah I’d like to own something like that, but then I would probably worry about it too much.

In the 70s I had a 71 Mach 1 Mustang (351W) but by the time it was 5 years old IL road salt had laid claim to it. Then bought a 74 Vette (350). Both were fun cars that the girls liked, but dogs in HP compared to their 60s predecessors.
