"Same thing happened with Three’s Company. It was scrubbed down from Man About the House by making the lustful main character borderline queer."

No, the joke was that Jack Tripper had to pretend he was queer because the landlords wouldn't allow unmarried mixed sex people to cohabitate. He was constantly out with horndog Larry at the Regal Beagle trying to pick up women, or getting in trouble trying to sneak ladies back into the apartment.

I found the UK version to be roughly 2/3 sad and 1/3 funny.

Well, it’s one of those fake documentaries, as if this is a real place and the camera crew is just filming what actually happens. That type of thing doesn’t work if you have tripods and dolly shots like a real TV show.

Yes, I'm surprised people are complaining about the camera shots.

They are missing out on a very funny and politically incorrect TV show, and I don't normally watch TV shows.

Not to mention that Michael Scott has Trump’s book in his office! :-)

If I remember right, that painting was the last shot of the series, too, wasn’t it?

I haven't finished with the series yet, so I can't say. It wouldn't surprise me, though, because that was a good acting moment, this scene.

I watched one episode for about 10 minutes long ago. If the production crew would simply buy a tripod for their cameras, I would have watched more. I can't stand that type of videography. It adds nothing and is distracting.

Oh, it's too bad you couldn't stick with it a big longer. It really is well done satire (not truly "shaky hand" filming, either) and you become the "production crew." It's a laugh riot. :-)
