This scene in season 3, episode 17, "Business School" of The Office (which happened to be directed by Joss Whedon) is incredibly heartwarming. Pam invited the whole office to come to her art show and no one shows except Oscar who criticizes her work, as she goes to start taking it down Michael Scott shows up and this beautiful exchange takes place. ♥ I'm sure many struggling new artists can relate to this...
No, the joke was that Jack Tripper had to pretend he was queer because the landlords wouldn't allow unmarried mixed sex people to cohabitate. He was constantly out with horndog Larry at the Regal Beagle trying to pick up women, or getting in trouble trying to sneak ladies back into the apartment.
I found the UK version to be roughly 2/3 sad and 1/3 funny.
Yes, I'm surprised people are complaining about the camera shots.
They are missing out on a very funny and politically incorrect TV show, and I don't normally watch TV shows.
Not to mention that Michael Scott has Trump’s book in his office! :-)
I haven't finished with the series yet, so I can't say. It wouldn't surprise me, though, because that was a good acting moment, this scene.
Oh, it's too bad you couldn't stick with it a big longer. It really is well done satire (not truly "shaky hand" filming, either) and you become the "production crew." It's a laugh riot. :-)
Eyes are up here.....
