DENVER — Voters in Denver appear to have overwhelmingly rejected a measure that would have overturned the city’s ban on camping in public places.

As of preliminary results released at 1 a.m. Wednesday, Initiative 300 was headed for defeat with 83 percent of voters saying “no” and 17 percent saying “yes.” Results won’t be certified until later this month.

Denver's current urban camping ordinance bans tarps, sleeping bags and tents in public. That ban was put in place in 2012.

This is Denver, the liberals will not enforce the will of the voters. We here in Colorado now have a tradition of defeating these amendments at the ballot box only to have the legislature and governor do it anyway. But they keep getting elected because of transplants from California and the open encouragement for illegals to vote.

Because they’d like to be able to walk around Larimer Square without stepping in human manure, or trip over it’s source.

I’m sure the city of Denver owns a piece of property outside the city limits it could designate as a “homeless camp.” A few miles west around 8,000 ft. or so.

The small California town I live in has a Anti-camping ordinance. The Police Enforce it.

Create enough shelters, help them move there. If they don’t want to then they’re responsible for finding their own solution without bothering other people. In many cases there is enough space and the people left simply prefer to be on the streets.

That 83% surely includes a lot of California transplants that you reference.

Denver is not bothering to enforce their no camping laws. There are tents, tarps, and sleeping bags all over the place.

Liberal hell-holes like Denver could care less about the American citizens, the senior citizens, the veterans, who need help.

They want to give everything to their future voters - the illegal aliens. They want to camp out downtown - fine. The rest of you FO!!
