It is so cool how they all have matching tents; makes for a neater neighborhood. It is almost like someone or group donated the tents?!!

I can kind of get a homeless guy having the right to snooze on public land. But putting down a tent like that, which is akin to a mobile cabin? It is hard to envision any legal principle that legitimizes that.

The cancer that is destroying formerly healthy cities such as San Francisco and Seattle started with just a few campsites such as this. If they are allowed to grow, the city begins to die.

Was just there last week. The area is absolutely crawling with aggressive homeless people. Was recently in San Fran too... Atlanta’s homeless situation seems much more extreme. Atlanta truly feels like a third world country.

I noticed a quiz on the linked site that was - "Sponsored by The Right to Shower."
Gheeze, where does all this crap stop and personal responsibility begin?

In the old days these people just died. Exposure or tuberculosis or sepsis or whatever. As a society we no longer let that aspect of nature take its course, and I am NOT saying we should, but these are not “unemployed” people. This is not a problem with the economy.

These are people with mental illness compounded by substance addictions. They cannot function in society, really, and even drug rehabilitation means a marginal and heavily supervised existence, with relapse very likely.

Perhaps they could be coerced to work in some fashion for their benefits, but not very productively, and really they need to be institutionalized, at enormous expense, with no one to foot the bill but the public.

That’s why nothing happens: no one wants to bite the bullet on that.

(1) I wonder if Atlanta will start busing their homeless to Columbus, GA again. They use to tell them they were going to jail or a one way bus ticket to Columbus. Columbus had to sue Atlanta.

(2) We don’t need more illegals here if we cannot even hose our own.

Deport a million illegal immigrants and suddenly you have affordable housing.

Just legalize pot. That is the solution. Just check with Colorado. Tax revenue from legal pot sales is booming. Illegal pot was supposed to disappear. NOT! If you buy the illegal stuff you can avoid the tax.

There really needs to be some requirements in order to cast a vote. I mean more than just being alive and a citizen and not having already just voted.

Atlanta shortly to follow in the footsteps of other radical Dem run cities each vying to be the one to give away the most free stuff.

Sooner or late one city or another will become a dystopian nightmare were only the “homeless” reside - in their own filth.

5 out of the 10 most dangerous college campuses in America were in Atlanta, and that was before the explosion in homeless people wandering the streets. I wonder how they are now?

Are y’all starting to see why Marietta and Alpharetta and Sandy Springs will not allow MARTA stations to be built in any of those places and why they have blocked any attempts at incorporation into Atlanta?

Wow, Norfolk Southern Railways is in the process of moving their corporate headquarters from Norfolk, VA. to Atlanta.

Norfolk has homeless but not at this level.

Someone posited the other day that blue cities are doing this deliberately to create “Trumpvilles” to be used for nightly news photo ops during next year’s campaign.

Sounds highly plausible to me.
