The Alabama House voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to outlaw almost all abortions in the state as conservatives took aim at the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide.
The Republican-dominated House of Representatives voted 74-3 for legislation that would make it a felony to perform an abortion at any stage in a woman’s pregnancy. The proposal passed after Democrats walked out of the chamber after sometimes emotional debate with opponents and supporters crowding the gallery. The bill now moves to the Alabama Senate.
Supporters said the bill is intentionally designed to conflict with the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion nationally, hoping to spark court cases that might prompt the justices to revisit Roe. The bill contains an exemption for situations in which there is a serious risk to the mother’s health, but not for rape and incest.
“The heart of this bill is to confront a decision that was made by the courts in 1973 that said the baby in a womb is not a person,” said Republican Rep. Terri Collins of Decatur. …

I am sure it will be overturned. It will always be thus unless Roe v. Wade is overturned.
The people who passed this bill are counting on court challenges and taking it to the Supreme Court if overturned.

Isn’t it funny how the gung-ho pro-aborts advocate for total, unrestrained promiscuity, calling it “empowerment”?
And at the same time, don’t seem too interested in educating young people about how their bodies work, how pregnancy occurs, and the stages of gestation?
Not to mention the moral implications of women & men who regard one another as disposable objects for mutual masturbation, often while under the influence of drugs & alcohol.
They never emphasize pregnancy prevention, with non-promiscuity / abstinence being best. They’re gung-ho against abstinence, insisting humans are too weak & stupid, at the mercy of momentary urges.
It’s as if they figure getting an abortion is just the best form of birth control, and every woman should have a few as part of the Empowered Woman’s Complete Life Experience.
Could very well be. That way they have the full support of the Supreme Court so it'll never be shut down.
